Trying to get my turned 40 attempt at working on myself going. Wish I was able to semi retire to give me more time but that's been pushed back a couple years. So 50 hour work week plus hobby farm..

I'm somewhat farm fit from my hobby farm, I can sling 60lb bales, wrestle 400lb donkeys being bad, etc. But that's only certain muscle groups and I'm sometimes embarrassed at unusual ranges of emotion im very weak on. My cardio is also terrible.

Body wise, not super worried about weight loss, could trim 5-10 but really not a problem, just the conditioning. I'm really bad about forgetting excersizes quickly and don't want to just end up hitting 4 things and not doing other things I should.
Aside from perseverance my biggest obstacle are my knees I think are starting to have problems, will lock up or buckle and hurt quick if I'm on my knees milking or fucking with the fireplace, had a total disc replacement 2 years ago. So I know deadlifts are great but have always worried me being a little broken up. T tested really low, would like to get a decent routine started for a month or so then start trying enclomiphene as a milder option than trying to jump on the trenbalone band wagon and probably causing more problems.

Tldr, kinda looking for a good video series/webpage that kinda has a good babies first workouts that actually talks about how you do something on top of kinda saying low goals and what to work towards. Tell me to do a lateral row and I'll be lost.

Do you have access to a gym?

I have a few smaller free weights, big heavy bag, tires, random heavy farm stuff. Rural so limited gyms, but hell there's a planet fitness if I could stomach it, next to nothing for trainers that I see. Or more body weight and can buy some stuff though I guess time wise, I can't really do before work, coming home with guns etc id rather do later evening after I get chores done but might be mostly restricted to weekend plus Thursdays when I'm normally off early.

Wife recently got a bow flex that she hasn't touched.

You mentioned deadlift, so I'm wondering if you're thinking of investing in a home gym? I built out a pretty robust garage gym but it took awhile and a few thousand dollars.

But you can get a half-rack for $100, a barbell for $100, and then some plates for about $1-2 per lb. Or you can find used stuff on craigslist/marketplace pretty cheaply if you don't want to order new. But, tbh, I order new just so I dont have to deal with shipping/picking up, getting a truck, etc. It's just easier for me to buy it new.

Do you hav dumbbells? I'm trying to think of what you have before I recommend some basic routines. I'm thinking at the moment if you could commit to at least 45 min 3x a week, you could build a foundation that would help you as we all get older.

It sounds like you're moving a lot, and are staying active, you're just wanting to help supplement that farm strength/farm body, right?

If you did a 3 day structure, you could pull this off, even with dumbbells. You may want to buy a half rack and an adjustable bench, though.

Might be able to use the bench of the Bowflex, pr1000.
Home gym probably ideal though house is is pretty full so id have to almost do outdoor/unconditioned large shop so it's going to be 100f in summer. Drag some of it out on the drive way early/late perhaps. But maybe I can find an affordable gym, one closest though was like 80/month though. And then I walk in and don't know what I'm doing

Diet needs work too, cut energy drinks but too much sausage and pasta or rice. Trying to get into the boring meal prep game. Did start doing chicken tenders/breast patties pretty n much every day at work with a little bbq. Got burnt out on eggs but need to go I back to them

I can easily help you with a routine if you get a gym membership, even something limited like Planet Fitness. Lmk if you do. I went to school for sports medicine before going into business.

Pair whatever you do with some regular yoga. Mobility and flexibility decline post 40 is no joke.
