I'm sitting on 187 limited pulls totally F2P but the lack of standard pulls is killing me. I need more AIC Quota to buy the limited time Gilberta pulls in the store.
I mean there were a decent amount initially. Hopefully they have events with standard pulls in the future patch. Usually these games only have 25-30standard pulls a patch(some of which are gated behind character levels, Hoyo like doing that for example) so it's not unrealistic to have them fix it for 1.1.

They're really gonna make me buy the 16 million stock bill items because I have nothing left to buy, huh.
You're done buying all of the 600k tickets? I've barely started on these, granted I have a bunch of stocks waiting for better rates but still there's like 100 of them so it's gonna take me a while. I don't really use them but I figure it'll be better than cosmetics for my ship.
I'm surprised this waifu simulator doesn't have customization options for the operators. I'm tempted to install Laevatain Simplify Mod for Arknights: Endfield | Endfield Mods to get rid of some of the dumb garbage around Laev.

Related, there is a visual change for whales, which is kinda cool.

These games almost never do, best you'll get is skins every now and then, and not sure when they'll get to that point as skins are usually pretty costly to make for the detailed 3D models so they sell them for a bunch and they don't always make the money back. They have to keep churning chars so it doesn't make sense to dedicate much time to each of them.

As for the visuals, it sucks they just didn't go the ZZZ route and use that to show off signature weapons instead, and then just design weapons for the character directly. Instead they have to both design the char signature weapon but also battlepass weapons, and they have to stick them into boring rigid categories too. Seems like a lose/lose for them so not sure why they decided to go with the visible weapon system.

I think the only reason to have more than 1 team built for this upcoming content is to prepare for the chance that the various stages within it will be easier / harder depending on the team comp.

Yeah but that doesn't matter THAT much. I think it's more of an issue if you play the ice team cause the aoe is kinda dogshit there, but the other teams can deal with aoe better, and if you have Gilberta even ice should be fine. Even then, it doesn't look like it's tightly tuned at all currently, at least based on beta reports, with timers being like 10mins so you can clear with basically anything, as long as you don't die(ironically defensive chars might be more useful in that mode for now).

We'll see though but I don't expect much. Generally speaking 1.0 endgame modes can be cleared by free chars/low rarity teams easily, and the powercreep/higher challenges only ramp up later. So I expect even the hard modes will be easy, other than that one stage where you fight 3 worms at the same time I've seen people complain about in beta, and that's mostly because worms are designed like garbage(if you have a ranged DPS it might not be much of a concern though).

I am completely F2P and I have every character except for Yvonne/Lifeng. Still have the free 6* selector if I want to unlock Lifeng but I'm just sitting on it. Extra copies are pretty pointless so I've just tried filling out the roster. Should be good to go if hard stuff needs multiple teams.

Seems the new stuff is online on Asia servers and yeah apparently it's super easy, in fact they nerfed some stuff from the beta version. Only seeing that you might want a healer for one of the stage, which well, everyone has with Ardelia so shouldn't be a problem.

Can confirm it's pretty easy for players like us. I feel like normies are going to struggle though.

No need for two teams yet, but there's a part 2 "Coming soon" which might require it.

It's probably a good thing the first challenge is relatively easy. I've never seen such a weak gaming community as Arknights is. I think most people who play these games can be considered gamblers instead of gamers and only play to get their fix on pulling levers for waifus, so why would they want a hard lever to pull?

This shit reads like an old granny talking about which casinos have the best slot machines to gamble away their dead husband's pension check.

Hopefully as the minority of the community that, like probably everyone on this forum that plays this game, wants hard content and asks for it, Hypergryph will "respond" and the second phase of this event is more challenging. I don't even care if it provides rewards, I just want something to sink my teeth into. I still don't even feel that good at the game because outside of a few encounters I need to pay attention to, I can just faceroll everything.

One thing I've learned about gaming is to never underestimate how bad the majority of players are.

If you've even spared a minute to look at builds, teams, or basically anything at all in any game, ever, you are in at least the 90th percentile.

Eh, I dunno. I'm not impressed with how Prydwen is showing their Builds for various characters, especially the Gear choices. Seems they are more focused on the 3-piece set bonus vs. Stats/Perk.

https://www.prydwen.gg/arknights-endfield/characters/laevatain seems like a reasonable breakdown. I'm using #2 in that list.

Worrying about optimum builds is a little premature though, actual hard content could shake things up a lot.

I am tempted to try out #3 and optimize toward Ultimate Gain Efficiency. Laev's ultimate is just so strong and fun. I doubt it would be worth using that over the set bonus though. Depends on how the scaling works I guess. I don't think I'd be willing to artifice a gear set I didn't think would be strictly better though. So many damn clicks to level it up.

I've never actually looked at the benefit from increasing operator potential. They look pretty spicey, whales playing an easy game on easy mode. P1, P4 and P6 would really shake things up.

P1: Battle skill Smouldering Fire improved: Additional attack multiplier is increased to 1.2 times the original, and scoring a hit returns 20 SP.

P4: Ultimate Twilight improved: Ultimate Energy cost -15%.

P6: Ultimate Twilight improved: Enhanced basic attack DMG multiplier is increased to 1.2 times the original; during the ultimate, every enemy defeated by Laevatain extends ultimate duration by +1s (max: +7s).

These in a gacha are considered weak dupes btw. Which is good overall since less difference between whales and F2P, although gachas don't actually make whale content that much, the whale advantage is just stuff being easier/faster.

An example of what happens when powercreep and greed go unchecked for a little while(purple is free weap, other is signature):

Don't do it, that's the path that leads to whaling. The most you should ever pay for one of these games is buying the $5 monthly pass that gives you a bunch of currency.

Personally I bought the $1 sword and I'm sitting on 200 pulls now. I'm good!

Yeah no chance i try getting dupes to increase operator potential. Whaling for a singleplayer game with no hard content is insane.

Right, #2 makes the most sense given how stats are presented in game. Why they list #1 with 2 suboptimal stated pieces is beyond me.

Also, upgrading gear is ass once you get past the 1st upgrade of any given stat. Annoying as hell not being able to craft multiple pieces of gear at once. So for Artificing, when you're going for the first upgrade of any stat, you should look for another piece of gear that has a higher base of that stat if possible. I think that is only possible for Stats like Str/Int/Will etc., as the perks all seem static (unless you wanted to feed an upgraded piece into a new piece).

In regards to Weapon Essence. Is there a cap on + Stat an Essence will give? The highest I've seen on a single stat is +3, then +2 for two on another essence.

If I like a gacha game, I usually dump a bit of money into it, so the Monthly, the Premium BP by default, then currency if I want a particular character (only with the Double amount though).

I'm not sure if there's a real cap, but there's a natural cap just from the weapon you can slot the essence in. At lvl 90, stats go up to +9 and the special skill(infliction, twilight etc) up to... +6? I forgot but you can see the max stats on the weapon. You can keep upgrading essences until you reach that. Past a point it's a pity game, the odds are very very low to get a raw proc, but upgrade enough time and you'll get the powder things to guarantee an upgrade, so it's just a numbers game until you get a maxed essence. The gains are obviously barely worth it but if you have nothing else to do with your stamina it's a good dump.

On the spending, I spent 1$ to grab Endmin's weap, and I'm considering spending 10$ to buy the battlepass IF 1.1 info looks interesting but for now I'm just holding on to it. I've been at the "nothing to do" stage for a while already, I just log in, do daillies, log out, other than events, which is fine, but pull economy looks pretty dreadful currently so I'm waiting to see what they say about 1.1(which won't be for a while, I'd expect 1-2weeks before the patch as the usual timeline) to decide if it's worth spending more time and money or not. I haven't bought the sub cause honestly it feels like shit value in this game and I don't feel like rewarding that kind of practice. Unless pull economy is really low, the 5$ for ~14pulls is just horrible compared to some other games. And if pull economy is low enough that 14pulls is a significant boost, game's not worth playing F2P unless they switch to a 1 char per patch release cycle(very unlikely with them already teasing 6 chars in the livestream though).

I meant a cap on the Essence itself, not the weapon. I've not seen any stat boosted by more than +3 on the Essence. So I was curious if its possible to get higher, or +3 to each.
