Bards are probably the best solo class strange they are trying to downplay that, not sure about summoner taking the title now though have only messed with them on PTR

they will be adding full pvp areas though that have top end pve gear and resources, they are adding one with this launch called harbringers

I know ppl will discount what I'm going to say, but aside from the game world itself, this game -looks- like total dogshit. Every aspect of the games presentation is low quality and unimaginative compared to any recent MMO. Its like the dev team has only ever played games from the early 2000's like EQ/EQ2, DAoC, or WoW. They need to fire the entire Art team (aside from Environmental) and out source to a Korean studio and let them work on Character models, NPC's, armor, weapons, enemies, mounts, and animations. Give them a year and you'll have a modern looking game. And no, it doesn't need to be full on T&A, but come on...this is horrible looking.
Also, wtf was with that EA video? Did they hire a voice actress to "act" out the script, lol?

You will not get ganked alot the first week at all lol what? I have never been "ganked" in the year and a half ive played unless I was in a PVP flagged area or flagged myself. There may perhaps be some like lvl 1 shenanigans happening from the massive influx of players that is expected.
The game is beautiful, its one of the things that everyone who plays agrees on. The character models are perhaps a little dated, but the enemies are pretty well done IMO. Then again I surround myself with EQ peeps so maybe everything is beautiful to us in comparison.

There are big penalties for killing unflagged people. Noone does it unless they are fucking around at lvl 1 / dont care about the character
No, there is alot of content. Alot.
Gear is massive in Ashes, every little upgrade you can feel and see the increase in damage and healing. You will be a scrub for the most part as you lvl, and at some point close to max will start farming for resources / components / gear to improve.
Need to make friends, cant do it alone. Crafting is very group effort.
