Children of Avatar (A2), I wish I counted how many times the kids said “bro.” I think it was over 50x.
That shit is so annoying. You have this fantastical alien world with weird blue people and they just sound like some Hawaiian surfer street rats.

Story is consistently ass in these. That said, both of these are some of the few movies that I hated when the movie ended, not because of the story or characters, but because I wanted to experience more of the world. Kind of that old feeling exploring a new MMO world used to give before we all became old and bitter.

First one came out in 2009. I cant believe he's been working on these turds and nothing else for 16 years

I mean he's been building submarines and exploring sunken ships all over the world. Dude has some hobbies.

I might sound like a hater but I remember seeing the first one in the theater and thinking it was good but I never watched it again. I’ve never seen the sequel and they just don’t resonate. They’re just too busy for me.

I saw the first one in 2009 in theatres. It was fun and novel experience at the time. That’s about it. Never saw it again. Saw the second one with my wife when it hit hbo or Disney plus or whatever. It was pretty shit. Graphics were great but writing and acting were not.

James Cameron used to be king of the world. He wrote the script for Terminator, Aliens, and Rambo II all within the same summer. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Victory has made him weak.

Generic story as usual, visuals still amazing. So it hasn't declined in quality from what it was but no help coming on the narrative front. Comments say the action scenes and Stephen Lang are exactly what we are looking for.

I saw the first Avatar in the theater because that's what everyone did at that time. Visually it was entertaining enough to watch on the big screen, but I had zero desire to ever watch it again or find out what happened after that.

I prefer my aliens to be...you know...ALIENS and not blue space injuns lecturing me about my carbon footprint.

The story of Avatar is hackneyed as shit but somehow they're still fun movies to watch.

Matt Damon turned down 10% and the lead in Avatar, but he was already doing the Bourne franchise. But we also could have ended up with Will Smith in the Matrix if they always went with top listers instead of the actors that finally accepted.

Yep, and they are really the only films that I feel I HAVE to go to Ft. Lauderdale for for the oversized IMAX. Cameron knows how to make entertaining action even if its stupid blue CGI aliens.

We could also have had Sean Connery as Morpheus. I imagine in some other reality they have that version of the Matrix with Will Smith Neo and "Morpheush", probably directed by two girls that then became dudes.
