Good old Jimmy C needs to give us a Future War movie to bring Terminator full circle. Yeah, I know T2 turns it into an open spiral where they maybe prevent Judgment Day, but T1 had us on the way to a closed loop. The Terminator Resistance video game is the closest thing we have to a T3 that tells the Future War story. Terminator Salvation tried to do it, but only showed an early stage of the Future War because it was intended to be the beginning of a trilogy.
Supposedly Cameron himself was considering doing a T3 for release in 1999, which would have functioned as a prequel to the first one and told the Future War story centered around Michael Biehn. However, the idea was dropped around 1995 because of studio bankruptcies and Arnold's ballooning salary requests, and Cameron made Titanic instead.
Now here we are in 2025, closing in on the 2029 depicted in said Future War, and Cameron's talking about doing another Terminator movie. Give us the damn Future War, man. It's the only thing left to do, and it always was the only thing left to do.
He'll have to finish the 8 Avatar movies first, though, and then when he finally gets around to it, it'll be another Dark Fate style "person being chased in the present" rehash. The odds of me getting what I want are probably like 5%.
