The entire MCU doesn't count as build up for Doomsday, just like the entire Bond series doesn't count as build up for the next bond film. Or the last NFL season doesn't count as build up for this upcoming NFL season. And in IW/Endgame they had a perfect mechanism for tying the movies together (the stones/gauntlet)

The reason the MCU until Endgame was buildup for IW/Endgame is because they started dropping plot points, characters, and hinting at things along the way. They didn't do that in this phase, they couldn't. As they literally started off moving towards the Kang Dynasty story line and abandoned that. (Loki and Antman Quantumania are both prime examples of that). They have tried to pivot to make RJD's Doomsday a part for part replacement for Kang, but he's shown up as a post credit drop in a grand total of one movie.

Doomsday is the Brony to Thanos's LeBron.
Exactly!

way going to gaslight into “hey guys this was one big build up all along!”

You will not act as if this isn’t Star Wars all over again where they didn’t have any fucking idea what they were leading up to and birthed / crapped out episodes 7-9

Plus, the biggest thing out of all of it is why are they using the exact same actor in the movie to played Dr. doom because right now it looks like a cash grab come see Robert Downey Jr.(you mean the same actor who played our number one star Iron Man? Well, it’s not like we exactly said he’s going to be anything. Let the audience think what they wanna think) and the biggest FU will be if they actually show his real face and none of the OG avengers react. “Wait a minute that’s Tony Stark.”

Well there's a symmetry in "He was the actor who functionally created the MCU, now he can play the character to functionally disassemble it...."

I'd imagine most of the white male marvel people who wrote Infinity war/end game and the good movies leading up to it were replaced with useless DEI hires years ago.

He really was the perfect Tony Stark. Not sure how he'll pull off Dr. Doom, but we'll see.
I always kind of figured Mads Mickelson or however you spell his name would have been a good doctor doom, but I guess they pissed him away on the first Doctor strange movie.

Anyone could be doctor doom. He's basically Marvels Darth Vader. You don't even need to show his face.

I'd say he's one of the least pissed away of the many pissed away MCU villains.

I don't know the comics very well, so maybe you're right. I remember who the hell he played in the doctor strange movie, let alone what is comic book significance would have been. How did surgery would have been a good casting choice for Victor Von Doom.

Avengers fans assemble! In major Marvel news, Disney is planning to put premium-format tickets on sale for Avengers: Doomsday next week.

The studio plans to announce that domestic tickets for the eagerly anticipated Avengers franchise sequel will go on sale July 20, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

The studio will open ticket sales five months early for Infinity Vision theaters — the large-format designation that the studio has announced for select Doomsday theater screens. Disney created the Infinity Vision brand in the wake of Warner Bros. locking down Imax theaters for Dune Part III for three weeks after both films are released on Dec. 18.

The early ticket sale plan also comes with a runtime for the film — 165 minutes (two hours and 45 minutes). While the film’s final cut is unlikely to be locked this far in advance, selling tickets on a set schedule means the film’s runtime can only change by a small margin. At 165 minutes, the film would be longer than 2018’s Infinity War (149 minutes) but shorter than 2019’s Endgame (181 minutes).

Disney will also offer Infinity Vision tickets for a re-release of Avengers: Endgame coming Sept. 25 (titled Avengers: Endgame Encore). Endgame is the second-highest grossing movie of all time ($2.8 billion globally), coming just behind 2009’s Avatar.

Marvel declined to comment.

The sale will launch a few days ahead of Marvel’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, which is expected to unveil the film’s first full trailer when the MCU returns to Hall H. An online release of the trailer also seems likely, particularly given the ticket sales plan.

The move follows Universal generating buzz by putting select Imax tickets for The Odyssey on sale a full year in advance.

Doomsday reunites Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they attempt to save the multiverse from a new villain, Doctor Doom, played by former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. The cast also includes Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) and more.

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and opens in theaters Dec. 18.

I was wondering something, how much time in the movie will be spent portraying the guy we already know to be Dr. Doom and the villain of the movie as a good guy like they did with mysterio in the second Holland Spoider-Man.

By Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox?
Oh they’re just randomly throwing characters into the story now without introducing them to the universe? Do they just open up some alternate timeline and those three come stumbling out of the portal and team up with the avengers?

RDJ doom is from a different universe, either where the Fantastic 4 film takes place or elsewhere. I could see him doing something to the OG X-men universe that causes them to show up in “our” timeline

tbh I think it’s just so they can do Cyclops right for a film before they reboot them

They started introducing X-Men to the MCU a few years ago. Easy to miss since it was attached to a terrible movie.
