I've beaten BG1 like 6 times.

Including after playing BG3.

I think my last playthrough on Legacy of Bhaal mode I ended with like, an absurd -14 AC. Crits were still a huge problem. One of the mods, https://baldursgate.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_Horizons was absurdly difficult and I never could beat it.

BG1's real-time with pause combat is better than BG3's bingo bullshit.

TIL. I skip a lot of books.

If you read the ban list book at the waning moon bar it says the pale elf. So apparently Astarion is on the list

Not BG3 but I decided to try and go through BG1, 2, and icewind dale again and I've done them multiple times. I don't know if I just forgot or got used to playing BG3 now was movement such a pain. Like just moving on screen, not fast travel. I can't seem to keep the camera up with the player as they move.

Just learned some of the ending videos (playing origin Lae'zel) was changed in patch 8. More involved, longer etc...Her end videos goes on forever. Mostly being narrated about her.

got to elder brain boss battle
Tried to highlight Orb of Negation and examine and figure out what they did, couldnt. Had no clue what they did. Imagine my surprise when they exploded, removing the platform two of my characters were on, resulting in instant death. 30 mins of first stage of battle wasted, need to try again. And no, trial and error is not acceptable to suddenly introduce new mechanics

I think that mechanic falls under the “if you’ve played enough games in your life, you know to gtfo out of the glowing death zone, especially when there are multiple platforms and only 1 is targeted”

the nautiloid targeting cannons are what a glowing death zone looks like

I admit I thought it was weird you could highlight platforms when mousing over them but still not much of a clue what the orbs do

Anyone have this happen or better yet a fix for it? I am doing a duo hardcore run and my main was okay but shadowheart got knocked off into a chasm. No biggy just get withers to revive her.

Nope, only gives option to change class or talk about hierlings. I went through it all and restarted several times, nothing. Hired a heirling and nothing. Kinda blows midway through a game.

Also can't fast travel other to camp and back. Can't rest it only says "Can't fast travel now" when I am right there at the campfire in camp. And I run zero mods not even graphical ones.

Edit run done. I went back and picked up another party member I skipped. Killed them and can't rez them either. No matter the character, how many times I reload, no matter how many times I go through all the dialog he only gives option to change class or hire someone.

Oh well. From a search I'm not the only one.

I am but googling a lot of people said the fix was to save at witcher, load up a previous save and talk to him, and then reload the bugged save and he should talk to you. It really doesn't matter I was just playing around and have done enough runs I can get through act one pretty quick.

But I would be ticked if it happened further in.

Just borked all around. I never could fix it so I started another run. After a while I wanted to be sure I wasn't wasting my time. Killed Astarion like I normally do and went to rez him before I killed him again and put him in a bag till I needed him at the end.

I had thousands of gold and withers kept saying come back when I have more funds.

Finally fixed and on my way. I'm trying to do an honor mode with heavy use of sealth using a gloomsalker ranger. Other than stealing I've never used stealth much. Kinda felt in honor mode needed to know how the fighs would start and go to be able to use stealth effecively. We'll see now that withers is working.

Gloomstalker/stealth archer is working out well. It's a lot more involved than my normal just beat stuff over the head. Hopefully I get used to it and it speeds up. I managed to get to lvl 4 without taking any damage, including the paladins/Anders. I'm sure that will change.

Best part of the game, use distract up to the roof, str potion from the hag, yeet them into the valley below. Weeeeeeee splat

Yeah using enhanced leap before.at the start of the fight. Did the gnolls solo and basically kited them with darkness and hide after each round and going invis with the cloak after each kill being a dark urge. I haven't done goblins in golin camp yet and at level 5 and got my crit immunity just in case from grymforge. I went through the underdark and not sure what the play should be with the dwarfs since I'm a Duegar.

With skills and pass without trace I'm self buffed to a stealth of 19. Amazing after all these yearsa after EQ I still think I will be seen based on ow close something getss while stealthed instead of the roll.

The only downside so far is ranger gets no skill profiency in any conversation skills so looking for stuff to improve that.

Well that sucked. Going to the Blood of Lethander. I had 14 bonus on the roll and the DC was 14. The the dawn things that punt you off into the chasm. Oh yeah, rolled a one.
