Cheating is so prevalent now even when you don't think you're playing cheaters, you are. Soft-toggling and walling are pretty hard to determine unless you get to spectate the player for a long time and most people don't. There's people who play these games with wall hacks for years and never get busted. With over the top aim assist from controllers as well it's hard to know who's actually cheating and "legally cheating" as well.

That said with some of the former BFs I think if enough of the current game reported some one for cheating they got kicked from the match at the very least. We'll see if they're willing to risk the griefing to at least leave that option in the game.

With the advent of AI, I cant believe they are not leveraging some sort of AI tool to mine for hackers. Im sure they could come up with something.

There was a startup that used AI to detect cheating, but they even said themselves that the tools that AI would use to detect cheating can also be USED to cheat. It was an interesting video that made the rounds from the bigger FPS streamers for a while. Not sure if anything is coming out of it 2 years later.

Yeah, cheating has basically become a built-in feature of online FPS games at this point. The only title that's managed to keep it under control is Valorant. But of course, gamers collectively lost their minds over the idea of an anti-cheat that actually works. Apparently, giving a program kernel-level access is some horrifying invasion of privacy because everyone's convinced their PCs contain state secrets, when in reality it's just a glorified shrine of outdated memes and furry porn. So instead, we all get to enjoy wallhacks, aimbots, and "totally legit" headshots in every lobby.
If it's done well. BF6 was a nightmare to get running for some. (A few hours with extra nerd cred friend diving into shit I dont understand) and then you still saw hackers semi regularly in beta.

Forget name, but gigabeef from tarkov was pushing a company that essentially creates a shared pool game companies can work with that basically universally bans people like VAC/Steam back in the day. I think it went further with basically using ID etc to verify who you are so even the folks that can evade hardware bans would be caught up in it.

thats why im just gonna play with EA Pro for $18, if cheating is out of hand it didn't cost me $70 or whatever

you can also buy $25 of EA Pro cards from amazon, best buy, gamestop etc which usually has even more discounts and stuff, like i had a $10 free cert at best buy so 1 month of Battlefield 6 will just be $8 for me, and it gives you the rainbow gay edition with all tramp stamps preattached too

only bummer is you can only access via the EA desktop client, not in steam

I mean if hackers abuse the defib, I wonder if they'd nerf it. I hope not.

Jesus Christ.

Gamespot: "Battlefield 6 plays it safe but marks a return to form"
Final Weapon: "Returning Gracefully to Form"
Hardcore Gamer: "A return to form for the franchise"

Rinse and repeat across 56 more sites.

Usually we all know what this means - but EA Pro is the absolute safest bet right now.

Anyone doing the EA Pro thing?

Yeah I am going to. $16.99 and unsub immediately and play for a month - if I still am playing after that can always buy it. Sounds like all the hackers and cheaters will have ruined the game by then so I'll save cash and scratch the itch.

I'd agree. Really there is almost no reason anyone here should be going into this blind. The weekends were plenty of time to see if you enjoyed it or not. Reviews are pointless these days. Always try things yourself first if possible. If not always wait a week or so , maybe watching some streams to get an idea or see if it runs into problems.

The free weekends were good, but severely limited in what we could actually use in terms of weapons/vehicles/gadgets/sub-classes (that most people don't know exist). That said, it was fundamentally very sound outside some major bugs most people probably didn't notice like the one that fucked your weapon bloom if you slid into terrain.

If you had fun in the weekend betas I don't see a reason you wouldn't have more fun during the actual launch except for possible cheezdick guns/gadgets which is nearly guaranteed, but hopefully it's at a lower level. There's definitely no reason for people to not do the $18 thing as well, but I'm not sure waiting an arbitrary 2 weeks on this one is necessary. Maybe 2 days could be good to see if it's bugged to fuck/matchmaking doesn't work.

TL;DR

Game was good. Full game probably better. Feel free to wait two or three days. If you wait two weeks you'll be playing against cheaters and sweat lord chopper gods and have much less fun.

I'm totally doing the EA Pro thing, subbing and instantly cancelling. I've played beta and it looks good but paying €16 instead of paying €70 for poopsocking the release is just cheaper.

I swore they had a 2nd beta weekend planned before launch to really show off the game to persuade those of us on the fence about the game. Nope, full steam ahead release with no idea what is different, gadgets, guns, etc. I hope it's good but already seeing that 3 of the 9 maps at launch will not have vehicles or conquest is a big wtf.

Main concerns being maps, random CoF/Bloom from bullets, Auto-spotting, etc.

Luckily Hell Let Loose is an amazing state right now so I have something to occupy me for a few weeks.

I know the autospotting was changed I think? I watched a video about it.

Found it, right at the start:
