I also heard they are giving out EXP bonuses if you played the first weekend for this weekend.

Supposedly, the game cost $400 million to make. They haven't made a profit yet. Hopefully the sales drop off enough from the weapons leveling and challenges shit to make them change things.

There isn't even a financial incentive to keeping me grinding. Just make it interesting enough to keep those dopamine receptors going off. I don't need to grind and hour long game and only get 2 levels of a gun.

All game companies need to take note from Hades 2 what smooth fucking progression looks for a company that respect it's player's time.

That is one of the things that turned me off to the last BF game - the level ups for guns/vehicles are critical to be competitive, but if you joined the game late, you were fighting people with all that shit unlocked which made it insanely hard to actually be competitive.

Doesn't feel like the gun upgrades are gamebreaking, are they though? I checked out the stat projections for the addons and it didn't seem like anything major down the road, atleast for my L110.

Some of them are quite drastic, when it comes to reducing recoil, bloom, ADS time, hipfire etc.

the bot servers...
spam host for solo. when you need to up weapon level, exp, and any challenges that suits easy kills. the sniper kill that requires x headshot kills at 150m. farm for 8x scoop on 1st sniper rifle. I did chug xp pots on this.

if you join open bot servers. real players have obscene health. use those to complete team challenges esp on support cause you cant team on full bot servers. and get your lmg 300x suppression fire done

there is a vehicle farm server, XGEK. dont think I will bother that and engineer for now.

that weapon challenge to unlock the lmg with 60rounds worth doing. it reloads fast

If you want to grind out shit on bots use this code: 8QAW. It's a rush map with AI that won't fight back. It has friendly fire too so you can off your own guys to get the match over with when you want.

Shit like this reminds me of why I stopped caring about these online multiplayer shooters. It getting taken over by the MLG/sweaty crowed was just one aspect of the problem, the other is the progression systems they have created for these games. It's all a part of this live service shit they do to get people hooked on playing these games all the time, giving them an incentive to grind away for better gear and a sense of progress.

I just want to log in once in a while and play some casual matches on a level playing field. Old competitive FPS used to be like that, everyone had the same weapons or same access to better weapons on the map, being able to take advantage of that was a genuine skill thing. Now it's like you just get fucked up by sweatlords with better gear, and the whole experience becomes tiresome.

There is a happy median in there some where. Have to find the balance between the casuals who will log in to play for an hour or 2 vs the guys who sit in there all day every day, cause this is their main game.

Between the "I want it all in 2 hours vs I want it to take a week to unlock all of 1 weapon's attachments(if I played normally and not bot farm)". Especially as the weapons are then themselves tied to character level and challenges. So most assume the better weapons are later.

Progression for unlocks has been around for a while, since I think BF2. So basically just 1942 and vietnam was play with everything right away.

Yeah I went ahead and just went two and a half hours on an xp bot farm. My SMG with XP boosting as well is now around 22/50. One gun. I was averaging about 15k per side (attack/defend) playing a medic so I can replenish my ammo. No fucking way am I doing that in a real match either.

So I went from 12 to 17 main level. One SMG used the entire time with about 600 kills. Went up 9 levels.

Two and a half hours with boost.

45 guns that will only be 495 hours to unlock all the attachments. So play 8 hours a day that will only take two months!
