How has this not been posted yet? Layne Staley of Alice in Chains as the vocalist,? Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine (and later Audioslave) on guitar, Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction as the drummer, bassist Martyn LeNoble of Porno for Pyros

Has The Man Who Sold The World been shared? Lewl at young Dave Grohl. As a history lesson, I believe that Bowie did the original and, although I like Bowie (<3Space Oddity), the Nirvana version seems more timeless.

In their day, I think Failure was drowned out by the likes of Bush and others. (unfortunately imo) I was floored when A Perfect Circle covered one of my favorite songs from them. I've gotta give them credit for deconstructing the song and making something completely different with it.

M?m is not so popular, so here's a live performance by the original band for comparison:

No cover to add but this APC cover isn't really all that odd considering it's the same guitar player as Failure.

Al Jourgenson does the best covers:

And for Pentatonix from above I tend to prefer this one of theirs - a large improvement over the original (not that original is horrid):

Best version of Dylan's classic "Master of War". The lyrics to this song are chilling....

Would have never thought I'd see a Miley Cyrus link in here for a best cover

Search for Brandi Carlile's version of Jolene, she can actually sing. Continuing with a woman theme..

Speaking of her.

Because I love Jennifer Nettles

I'm glad to see some props for Heart doing Led Zeppelin. I ended up catching them at the Greek in August and after playing their set they came back out and played an hour of Zeppelin. They sounded fantastic.

Just because I like the original and the guitar tone on this cover sounds fucking fantastic. Vocals a bit forced in places but that's his thing.

Also, if there was a "worst cover thread", I'd have to throw up this pile of "indie" dogshitFleet Foxes Singer Robin Pecknold Covers - Video | Rolling Stone

For fuck's sake.

Throwing random people together to make a cover tune sometimes makes something amazing and sometimes makes, well, this:THE SKY I SCRAPE: Alive by Dierks Bently, Mike McCready, and The Roots

To be fair the roots were actually quite good here. A better choice at vocals and it could have been pretty cool.
