Twin Peaks at number one is interesting. I liked it a lot, but it had enough bad in it that I wouldn't be willing to put it at #1.

Maybe it's just there for hipster cred.

Did someone really have time to watch 47 shows, plus the ones that didn't make the list, in a year?

Not only that, but then they go and put Legion waaaaaay the fuck up at 43 "for being overly stylized and maddeningly withholding. "

Fucking kidding me?

P.S. the Gifted, while not being the greatest show, should have at least gotten a mention over some of that other crap.

Legion should have been way, way higher. And I love Twin Peaks, I'm a huge nerd over it, but come the fuck on. It's a beautiful, wonderful thing but it's not even the same kind of thing as the rest of the shows on this list, and doesn't belong being compared with them. I guess I need to see The Deuce before they banish Franco to whore island or whatever.

The Deuce is real good. Trying to picture Whore Island.

Best of 2017: Television Critic Top Ten Lists

So consensus is The Leftovers is the best of 2017. Honestly I've never seen it there is just way too much TV.
Wow. Rick & Morty only made 24th place? smh

though, to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

Also, it was totally funny when Morty inadvertently fondled that aliens genitals last season. Totally deep, ya know?
