Fun start to 2026. Just going to note for the record I called a new ATH for BTC in the first half of this year in the Investing General thread

yup next stop 99ish resistance passes that its 104k (200day sma)

At that point we discover something very important. Fails and we are going to new depths ugly bear market or we get on top and start new bull run.
So… might go up, might go down?

Fails at either and it's lights out or fails at 104k?

Sounds like it's bull run or bust.

Trading on technicals is based on capturing moves from support to resistance. has little value to "investing"

Whatever little voice we, as people, have... It should be trying to kill this bill and get a proper one done. This bill would not only prevent any stablecoins from offering any type of yield/interest, it would also massively further invade any privacy anybody in the crypto space has. Almost all at the bequest of big banks..

Looks like Saylor is breaking down here, anyone speculating on when MSTR bottoms out?

Damn, that was cringe. The market's response is clearly taking it's toll on the perma-bull maxi.

Host: "How do these other pure-bitcoin treasury companies compete with your preferred's?"
Saylor: "It's an ignorant and insulting question."

I'm trying to hunt down if it's real or not. But I'm seeing tweets and nonsense saying there's a second crypto bill about to plow through congress because of the money behind it, and it's going to functionally make self custody impossible by stating that all crypto must be held on government regulated exchanges.

Hoping this is bloviating hype nonsense on twitter....

So I hadn't actually bothered to listen to this "crash out" but went ahead and did so here. People are massively overblowing this. He's essentially saying the equivalent of "If a business in Argentina is selling their Pesos to buy US Dollars, they're not competing with another business in Argentina that is selling Pesos to buy US Dollars". Comparing the adoption of Bitcoin to the adoption of electricity is a key point here.

Admittedly he isn't answering the underlying question being asked, which is a valid question, but his dismissal of the framing is valid from the standpoint of someone who sees the dollar as an infinitely depreciating store of value against Bitcoin.

I swear 90% of people can't form their own opinions on anything, just accept the framing that is presented to them. Plenty of reasons to distrust MSTR and their ability to deliver on what Saylor presents, but this isn't really that. If you've spent any amount of time listening to his thesis, which I have, this is 100% in alignment with how he views Bitcoin. Nothingburger.

Doesnt change the fact that you can't trust a guy who shaves the fuck out of his neck but then grows a beard on part of his face.
