‘Blade Runner 2099’ Live-Action Sequel Series From Ridley Scott, Silka Luisa & Alcon In Works At Amazon Studios
The replicants are heading to the small-screen as Amazon Studios has put a live-action series in the Blade Runner universe into development.

one of the writers of BR2049 is involved but the director, Denis V, and the director of photography, Roger Deakins (a legend) are not so probably not gonna be as intense.
Still could be really good, the world is rich and the recent Cyberpunk anime TV show or Altered Carbon shows you can do a lot of neat interesting stories in a future world with replicants. Moving it forward FIFTY years past BR2049 is kinda crazy too, in theory replicants should be free and maybe even have figured out a way to reproduce, what happens to humanity?
The only problem is the service, Amazon Prime has hung its shingle on Rings of Power and at some point they could decide "this streaming shit isn't our core business anymore" and eject. Hopefully not for a few years, and really there aren't many good alternatives left - Netflix is struggling, this isn't a universe Disney gives a shit about, HBO has all sorts of debt and money issues, Apple TV+ coulda been interesting but they wouldn't allow fucked up shit to happen in the show either.
