I was curious if any of the men on this forum use Botox? Specifically for preventative maintenance on forehead wrinkles? If so what’s your experience been like?

How about laser facial treatments as well for sun damage?

sleevedraw sleevedraw how about you? Any insight?

I don't use it.

Botox treatments are usually billed by the number of units of medicine that are used in the treatment. Rough average cost is around $500 per treatment, injections need to be repeated every 3-6 months, and insurance will not cover them at all because they are considered cosmetic, so you will be paying as cash out of pocket. Laser may be covered as part of photodynamic therapy if the sun damage consists of a specific precancerous lesion called an actinic keratosis, otherwise it too will be considered cosmetic.

Thanks for the info. Putting the cost aside, what have you heard if anything about it for men? Any potential long term downsides? Any specific reason you haven’t tried it? Cost?

It's a muscular paralytic. If muscles aren't used, they atrophy. Long-term use can make people seem "expressionless." If it's discontinued and the muscles are used again, it can go away.

Contrary to common belief, not all gay guys are vain queens who are obsessed with looking youthful forever. I don't particularly care about my appearance, and I fall into the Suave bucket of owning age with grace.

Pffttt I asked you because you work in medical and seem to have extensive knowledge on it. It made no assumptions regarding its relation to your sexuality!

Regardless, thanks for the info.

Do you want your wife to get nasty forehead wrinkles?

Why do we have a double standard for women and men? I think Brotox is OK.

We don't. I want my wife to look like a real woman. Much like tattoos, I've never once thought, "Wow, that was an improvement." Botox makes people look like uncanny valley plastic dolls. It doesn't fool anyone and just broadcasts insecurity.

Idk man like anything it can be overdone. I’ve seen some great forehead Botox on women. Women in their 40s with no forehead wrinkles. They look GREAT

Follow up - honestly I’d avoid Botox until maybe late 40s at earliest and in heavy moderation due to potential muscle atrophy. All those women in their late 20s and 30s that are shooting up non-stop? They’re gonna get really bad atrophy and end up with drooping muscles in their 40s…

I will however recommend MOXI laser treatment. If you’re a dude who wants to revitalize your skin with minimal downtown and little risk - this laser is for you. Absolutely amazing how it did on sun damage. I’d recommend every dude have a basic skincare routine that includes retinol. If you want to step it up then I’d give MOXI a try.

I don't know of anybody using it for face wrinkles. But I do know someone who gets it on their scalp to , of all things, reduce migraine frequency. Heaven knows how that f*ing works, but it seems to.
