So this is one of the OG Adult Swim writers. Did some of Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, the Adult Swim Yuletime Log.

Did a crazy segment in V/H/S Haloween called Fun Size. Also did this



Super excited for this, "lost" childrens media tropes are super fun. Like I Saw The TV Glow and Channel Zero: Candle Cove, its a super effective type of movie for me.

Too many cooks was excellent. Comes on randomly late one night and I start out with oh another of those dumb things adult swim does then WTF after WTF. Hopefully the same energy is here as well.

A dark children's show from the 90s that people remember but no evidence can be found of its existence was done in the book Mister Magic

Kids that were on the show have grown up and seek out solve the mystery of what happened during their youths. I bring it up because the teaser trailer is like spot on the same premise.

Book's like a C+ but the lady that did the audiobook reading I listened to carried the whole fucking thing.

actually, seems Too many cooks was a year earlier. so that does predate Candle cove.

the concept has been done to death in video games and "mascot horror". just a metric TON of games doing this.

I would have thought the "does anyone remember this sinister kid's show there's no evidence of it" horror story would be specific/original enough but I see Candle Cove is just about exactly that.
