So apparently the reboot is happening. Since we never had this title in the past, I just started this with the old image. It can be redone later.

I enjoyed both this series and Angel a lot. I have concerns with this reboot. Joss Whedon might be an asshole and womanizer, but the man knew how to write good dialogue and stories. Without him in this process I feel like this is already a problem. Also they want to "Bring the story into today's world"

Weird they are calling it a reboot and not just a continuation. Sucks for Whedon he doesnt fully own the rights.

They mean white lesbians are not woke enough. It's going to be tragic what they do to this. If they really focused on the horror vibe I feel like it would be different enough to have a shot. Instead it's going to be black gay lesbian tranny's and Indian 2spirit gender queer armadillokin.

Yeah I was also kind of not understanding the Reboot thing. I kind of wonder if that is a legal decision more than a choice.

Never watched the original series, for whatever reason. Sarah Michelle Geller sort of disappeared after Buffy, right? Think I saw her in one theatrical movie mid 2000s then poof.

Yeah she made the conscious decision to be there for her children. I do not fault her in the least. I bet there are many many mothers that wish they could do the same thing. Honestly I think our society would be better for it. Her children are grown and now she is getting back into acting.

God damn I wanted SMG to sit on my face in high school. She built up this persona in this and then went on to film Cruel Intentions and I about blew my load in the theater.

I mean she’s worth $30 mil and probably gets a ton of royalties for Buffy. Why bother to keep working lol

She probably ran away from Hollywood for obvious reasons. I liked her in the new dexter show. Her and Freddie still going which is a fucking unicorn in Hollywood and very respectable.

The Scooby movies would have continued if the studio execs didn't want to lowball on salary. After the kids she was in some series including the one with Robin Williams up until his passing. But both her and Freddie seem to have their shit together so they likely had their financials in order and never were forced to work for the cash.

Chloé Zhao created it the pilot with the same tone as Eternals, and the execs absolutely hated it.

Hulu wanted a true Buffy reboot with the charisma and humor of the original. The light-heartedness was completely absent. The pilot they shot was overly serious.

Insiders saying the deadpan seriousness (ala Eternals 2021) was an easy pass for Hulu. The dead seriousness of it must have been jarring for them to not go forward with at least 1 season.

It was done by the director of Eternals and shot the exact same.

Chloé Zhao.

Another network can still pick up the show. It's not over yet unless other streaming services pass on it.
