3 films, i got there at 2 and left at 8. if there are any navy guys going to see this i would like to know how realistic this is. because it seemed realistic as fuck to me. i wouldnt be surprised at all if those actors were all actual naval personnel.

Great movie. Hanks final scene in the film will earn him a plethora of awards.

Just watched it and love it. Hanks gave one hell of a performance.

Loved how they showed the fucked up life of the pirate. Until now, only South Park addressed the issue.

not much credibility from anon shit talkers in a ny post article.
Hollywood vs Anonymous people.... I would tip the scales in favor of believing the anonymous people.

Did a lil googling, found this article

$30G went missing in SEAL rescue of Capt. Phillips; SEALs given polygraph test | Fox News

From fox (lol), so I guess they have the whole "This happened under Obamas watch, so no matter what happened it is wrong", but still adds another picture. Not 3 clean kills, but rather wound and exterminate.

If it is just one former crew member being angry because he wasn't portrayed in the movie, etc, then this will blow over. However, if the entire angle the story is show from (Phillips side) is wrong, and the entire crew can back it up, it will come to light. NY post article was just a few days ago, googling the captains name now pops up articles all over that references the NY Post article. No doubt at all that journalists from other publications will go to the other crew members to verify/deny that story.

For me, I don't care. I will watch the movie when I can simply because of Tom Hanks.

I think a majority of the crew members actually filed suit against Captain Phillips or the shipping company for negligence. Most of them won't be able to speak about it I'd imagine.

i imagine they feel like they got cheated out of some fat stacks because capn phillips got all the attention. in the movie the crew were whining like little bitches too. and phillips had to tell them to shut the fuck up because there was no safer route to take. if they went another way, then the pirates in those waters would have attacked them as well. people need to realize that sometimes shit happens and you have to deal with it.

Kinda relevant :

Several crew members are actually involved in a lawsuit vs Maersk + Cap Phillips for negligence as their route was unnecessarily close to land.

Also, 2 of my coworkers were kidnapped last week off the coast of Nigeria. I believe the crew was left alone save for the Americans onboard. The company I work for has a contract with the Navy for some SEAL escorts, but not for this ship.

The guys are still being held as far as I know.

Great thriller with a very efficient contextualization of the events. The final few minutes shall earn Hanks some more well deserved awards for his cabinet. Greenglass' nervous filming maintained the tension, but this is no Bourne Ultimatum where every action scene had amazing use of space and view-points. The final 'action' scene though had a pretty clever use of darkness and light, even if, to my liking, it did not pay off as much as I would have wanted (but again, a big show of directing virtuosity might have been a bit out of place in the context of this film).

Three out of four stars.

PS: I hope Rod-138's coworkers are ok.
