I can't help you with your issue but I can tell you not to shop at auto zone unless you like paying double. I recently went to get some transmission fluid for my mustang and the dealership was half the price of auto zone. Let alone some mail order online price.

How's the ground strap between your engine and frame? If it looks decent, you might still want to try backing out the bolt, then driving it back in. That's a lot of unique failures happening all at once.
This is a good thought. Any time the electrical shit is flipping out in really crazy ways it's usually a grounding problem.

I just had a weird problem with my Ecoboost F-150. First I was getting a misfire but replacing that coil (the same coil had gone bad a couple of years earlier) cleared that up. Then it started doing something where it would suddenly have no power and go into limp mode. You could floor the gas pedal and it wouldn't go above an idle. Turn the engine off and back on and everything would be fine. It happened 3 times with months between them so I figured I'd just wait for it to get worse. It did a little bit but it still only happened 3 times in maybe a month. Last couple times it threw codes about catalyst efficiency and turbo under boost. Took it in to a shop and they drove it to lunch for a week and never got it to act up but the guy seemed pretty confident that the problem was the throttle body. He says he replaces 3 or 4 a month on Ford pickups for similar symptoms and it will hardly ever throw a code. A week and $485 later it hasn't happened again, but since it was already so intermittent who knows. Hoping for the best.

I get parts from Rock Auto. They have a large range of parts depending on whether you want economy, OEM Equivalent, or performance. My buddy that's a mechanic tells me that their prices are pretty much the same as he pays for parts. They charge quite a bit for shipping though, so keep that in mind when you're comparing prices. I don't know if it's because I'm in the sticks but the parts stores are very high priced and have very little selection around here.

Pretty common these days. Even their cleaning products are over priced. I get my parts from various dealerships, or online OEM if I don't need anything right away. Parts store here sells no name Chinese trash at huge prices.

All right I figured I'd check with you guys to see if I could figure out my current issues. Needed to swap out my spark plugs and ignition coils on a 2016 f150 2.7 l EcoBoost turbo. Got to pack off Amazon (KAX) that had good reviews, pre-gapped plugs that all checked out and packs that looked exactly like the ones that were OEM on the truck.

Spent yesterday morning at my dad swapping them out, and I got a check engine light. Brave it back home and could detect misfiring, and jump back on the Amazon and ordered a BlueDriver Bluetooth diagnostic tool, which came in this morning, and I'll add it's pretty awesome.

Anyways, I'm getting error codes for coils two and three which are on the passenger side, middle one and the one against the firewall.

Did the swap trick on number two with one and I'm still getting the same error and nothing where the original number two was in the one slot.

Friday though when I was going to get my vehicle inspected, my damn truck wouldn't turn on and I had to diagnose it in the parking lot, and ended up being a relay on number 66 that goes to the power control module. Swapped it with something that wasn't being used and fired right up.

I don't know if I got too bad coils, or if maybe I'm having problems with the PCM. Checked all the wiring harnesses, connectors for seated tight, I mean I was gentle with everything swapping stuff out yesterday.

Ended up running the stupid AutoZone today and the only coil pack they had on hand was $75, and come to find out they charge $120 for a motorcraft. When the hell did they skyrocket in price for over the counter sales I have no idea but I'm not paying that.

I'm waiting on the damn engine to cool off for me to go back out there and at least try that other one and see if I can get rid of one of the codes.

I've swapped out coil packs and stuff on all of my f-150s and I've never encountered something like this. I'm just worried it might be a bigger problem. I was also getting misfires prior to swapping everything which is the reason I went ahead and embarked upon this.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's not necessarily the coils. Replace the spark plugs.
