Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Record of Lodoss war was one of my first anime's...

1) not knowing that the east loves to not present things chronologically would have helped...
2) not knowing what a "movie" vs "series" is in anime-speak, OVA...etc.
3) getting this from early internet "sources" vs buying a 200$ DVD set so...things may have been a little vague and out of order.

Now I actually enjoy some of the series vs OVA differences and adjustments - like Blue Gender the series vs The Warrior OVA/Movie and some of the things they did differently in the story telling etc.

Some interesting ideas, deadcells people say they had to move away from rougelike gameplay for this, so that is positive.

lead up concept is kinda cool, corrupted joan of arc is interesting and the fight seemed fairly good in a standard CV manner. Still a little bit much jumping and whip swinging around etc for my taste in platforming- but none the less...

Only like "ummm" is there is really NO og CV people on this... the konami guy is the guy that did co-labs and collections... so none of it "new"... guess at least we are getting a new one!

Do not know why I just noticed, but they are using the combat cross style/visual from Lord of Shadows...

Trevor is in it, so is Issac - they kept him white, so its CoDarkness timeline and it kinda just affirms it...or does not affirm it because... how the heck is Issac alive? he was sacrificed / transformed into Dracula at the end of CoDarkness

Yeah.. I feel that… but at the same time they are not.

If somehow Alucard shows up then..yeah, off the reservation here in timeline.

Their art for Camilla is great, the mask calls back to CV2 and others- the blood dress they “stole” from Bloodstaind IGA nods in appreciation or contempt…

I actually dig the corrupted shade of Joan of Arc. Give it some tie to the time and location.

Lady Belmont daughter Her “cursed” arm is more telling - the new art if very retro CV style vs anime style yet the game is very anime leaning (duh) - she has the combat cross… Trevor has the VC… like, nice.

So many things make me want to hate it, so much makes me want to love it.

They haven’t shown the art for Dracula yet … Issac being alive… combat cross… this could be Lord of Shadows timeline after LoS and MoF before LoS 2 (that does not exist bc its gay)… if they reveal Dracula to be Gabriel , whew boy… but the art they have clearly leans on SoTN looking Dracula
