It took a bit to find. Nothing from the guy himself confirming, but there are a few reddit posts saying he was hacked and had Crypto scams with Musk/Trump videos laced in uploaded to the channel before it went dark. Hopefully they just set the videos private, otherwise that's a lot of educational material they just fucked over.
I mean I don't know if YouTube back stuff up or he maybe has his videos stored. I would imagine a channel that big you'd have some sort of redundancies in place, but goddamn.

If it can happen to him you got to wonder who else that can happen to. I don't know much about crypto scams, but that's crazy if spend years cultivating something and honestly just putting out wonderful and helpful videos, and then it's just gone.

Something like 6+ months ago, there was some other Youtube channel, that I occasionally watch, that got hacked the same way with crypto scams getting uploaded and such. I think all his videos got restored but don't know the process needed or how long it took. When you click his videos it just says they are private and not "does not exist," so hopefully it's as easy as making them public again once the account is unlocked and back under his control.

Is it just stuff that gets uploaded and linked in the comments or something? I'm assuming that might be what it is, like I said I honestly just don't know.

I really hope it gets sorted out though. One of my favorite channels, and he's just passionate about cooking, and like you said a wealth of knowledge.

I didn't see what exactly happened to the Chefs channel, but the one from last year had all his video's hidden or "deleted." Then new videos were uploaded that were premade and well produced "crypto investment" videos. They even had some live streams of investment subjects that was being streamed/cloned from a legit source, I think. I don't remember exactly how they scam or profit off these hacks though.

We talked a bit about it in a thread around here, at that time, but don't remember which thread or the exact time it happened.

Everything is built on sand now (and multiple layers of sand at that). If you really like something, archive it.

The problem with most of those bars is the amount of sugar.

Let me introduce you to Fit Crunch

190 calories, 16g protein, 3 grams of sugar. Tastes like a Snickers.

Get them at Costco for about $18-22 for an 18 pack, depending on the sale.

I've definitely seen them, never tried as I basically wrote them off instantly due to what's his names face all over it. In general I'm trying to move toward eating less highly processed stuff on a regular basis. Also, if it's in the house I'll likely mow through that box in 2 weeks or less.

lol mostly I mean I’ll get on a streak of eating anything sweet I can get my hands on and will likely eat 3 of those in a day on top of whatever else there is.

CHICKEN.

I literally just have 10-12 prep bowls in the fridge and freezer at any time. Hungry? Eat chicken.

Hard to build and maintain muscle mass when you're older. Gotta focus on not losing what you have. And not losing what you have requires a shitload of protein. Activity level drops when you get older, so not getting fat requires less calories and more nutrient dense food. Grilled chicken is top of the list for both of those goals. Find a marinade or spice combo you like, taste is subjective.

So, yes, literally, my lunch 5-6 days a week is 6oz of grilled chicken and 2.5oz of blueberries to keep the sweet cravings at bay. Ends up being just under 300 calories for 50g of protein.

It's also is pretty fucking cheap when you think about it. Chicken breast was on sale for $1.99lb last week so we bought 10lbs.

Edit : forgot the most important part. I just feel better eating 200g of protein every day. I'm not saying mentally, im saying literally I'm in less join pain (probably as a result of working out more, but whatever), and the biggest one for me is I struggled with stomach and small intestine ulcers for over a decade with repeated 2-3x a year flare ups for months at a time and those have completely gone away.
Where are you buying this chicken?

That's exactly why these are the best. Everyone has that craving, but these taste like a candy bar and don't suck for macros. Although it should probably not be in the "cheap meal" thread.

So, normal breakfast, normal lunch, normal dinner - replace bullshit snack with 190 calorie 16g protein 3g sugar candy bar = everything good!

Was this the Cowboy Kent video you said you were following to make your quesadillas and homemade tortillas? I'm assuming so . That one flew over my radar but it looks pretty good.

Think I'm going to have to try it. The tortillas we've typically been fine for some weird Mexican brand HEB carries. They're super cheap, but they're not the processed type stuff you get with any of the name brands.

I don't even know what they're called, but they're great, and I like them even more than the HEB fresh tortillas they make in the bakery.

Used to be a Mexican restaurant in College Station we'd go to when we were in school that actually had a big tortilla machine in the middle of the restaurant, and there was some fat Mexican lady pumping out tortillas constantly. Was in some shopping center right past the intersection of Texas and University.

They're probably the best I've ever had. Ninfas used to have really good ones but I don't even know if they're still in existence other than the original location in Houston. Pappasito's is all right, but when you find those little hole in the wall taco shops, and they're following their great-grandmother's recipe, those are always the best.

I just want to try making this big ones like he did to wrap up the quesadillas, or even make carne asada burritos.

Creative Home & Kitchen Cast Iron Tortilla Press, 8" , Black
(this link is to the same one but it's 20bucks)

i've used it a few times, i bought it w/ the intention of also making roti, but haven't gotten around to it, i'm sure there are cheaper ones, but they were aluminum and i always pay a premium for cast iron if i can.

Yup that's the one I use. No sense getting fancy. It works great. Just use plastic bags on both sides

i remember they make a "heavy duty" one and it's just more weight on the top so weak women (soy boys)don't have to press so hard!

He was really upset when I told him you made fun of his fancy mashed potatoes and pulled everything. I've calmed him down and he's better now.

I never said they were bad, I just like different types of mashed potatoes for different types of dishes. If you're making chicken fried steak, it's country style, skin on, chunky taters.

Frenched veal chop with a demi-glace, or maybe a roasted pheasant and wine reduction, his appropriate French method.

I also know you're just busting my balls though, because I love all mashed potatoes, and if you don't, you're a fag...😉
