Go turn off the DLAA that it defaults to, makes the entire game look like dogshit.
Looks fucking incredible on normal DLSS with no resolution scaling
I never played those games, never had a SNES or PSx til PS4. I think the first turn based rpg I ever played was Honkai Star Rail. That game made at least think about playing others, thought about trying Metaphor ReFantasio, but haven't yet.I find it hard to believe you never played:
Zelda
Chrono Trigger
Castlevania
Star Ocean
Xenogears
Suikoden
etc, etc, etc.
JRPGs were one of the biggest and most acclaimed, most saturated genres in console gaming until the mid-late 2000s. Most of us would have been console gamers before discovering EverQuest and most of us would have played a lot of JRPGs because the only other console genre that had close to as many big titles was probably fighting games.
I'd say kids born after 2000 might call JRPGs niche but most of the people on this forum would definitely not consider JRPGs niche. It was one of things many of us grew up on.
Ill give you that early installments of Castlevania arent, but Zelda?
Some of you fucking nerds lived REALLY sheltered gamer lives and it shows.
It's like a portion of this board literally went EQ all day > WoW all day > Random shit that gets popular/streamer plays. Sad!
jrpg's is one of the many many genres that the industry has tried it's best to abandon. whenever a youtuber goes down the rabbit hole of playing jrpg's he dives right into the SNES-PS1 era JRPG and not so much the shit that came after. it's sad.
The problem with JRPGs, almost exclusively, is how weeb-shit the genre became over the last 10-15 years.
It's not a mechanics or genre problem, it's that a huge chunk of the western audience just doesn't give a fuck about anime highschool protagonists or whatever the fuck.
It's a big part of why this game is so refreshing, as it's the first time in a long time there's been a game like this that isn't just pure weeb trash

More like Bards Tale / Various Amiga games / Doom / Quake / EQ / WoW / Various MMO's / Various other stuff. ;pSome of you fucking nerds lived REALLY sheltered gamer lives and it shows.

Man, I didn’t have a pc capable of playing EQ in 99. And when I did get one, I ended up mainlining d2 and unreal. Then wow found me. If I’d have found EQ I doubt I would have done as well as I did in college.
Consoles were cheap, comfortable then albeit with expensive software.
