simon says noI just finished Act 2.
I'm not really impressed with the story and the characters. I don't give a shit who dies/lives and I still despise the button smashing fights.
Once I'm done with this game, it'll get uninstalled and it'll just be another notch on my belt.
This game has nothing on Cyberpunk 2077 and I don't know how it took home all the awards it did.
I have this issue as well, there is something about the French aesthetic that irritates me, no idea why. Don’t get me wrong, I love the architecture of Paris (never seen in person) but the clothes, language, artistic style, language, and the people (Quebec folks) just kind of piss me off.the contempt I have for things French.

Cyberpunk got smoked early because it initially released as a buggy mess. The same cyberpunk 2077 that came out years ago and got lambasted in its own thread?
God I fucking love this place!
There’s not been a good game released since pong.
I agree Cyberpunk was a fucking mess when it came out. They've fixed a big majority of the game and now I have over 1000 hours playing it after I picked it back up last year. I'll be lucky to get over 70 by the time I'm done with this game.Cyberpunk got smoked early because it initially released as a buggy mess.
This game has a few things that are divisive that aren't buggy. You either like or hate the combat, which is a giant part of the game. AsPhazael properly put it, the twitch show off retardation at the end game doesn't do it favors. Second would revolve around the twist at the end of act 2 and your attachment to characters and / or the world. Either you like the pivot or you don't. Then there's the in your face French influence, but if you hated that and played through the game then you're a moron.

pretty sure the prologue was made for game journosIt really is one of those games people will look back on and wonder how they ever enjoyed it. I don't understand how any of you made it past the prologue without immediately refunding.
Reading this feels like hearing a movie review from someone who stared at their phone the entire time they were "watching" it.I agree Cyberpunk was a fucking mess when it came out. The gameplay and especially the Cyberpunk story is much more engaging than a story about a family's grief. If the developers were trying to create an intimate game that you can emphasize with its characters through grief - they've failed. I felt more connected playing an underdog merc trying to save his/her own life in a shithole city.
Also, until the Act 2 twist I had no idea wtf was going on with the whole Renoit/Paintress/Verso stuff and even after the reveal - I was thinking this is it?
Why do I not care about what's happening with these characters? Why do I not have the urge to finish the game?
Don't get me wrong, game is visually beautiful and the soundtrack is good (not Cyberpunk levels of good).
Aside from those two points - game is not memorable and I won't be eager to see future DLC.

I don't hate the game. I feel it's overrated and the overall experience for me has been meh.Yeah. I don’t get the hate.
But whatever. I collect SNES games and always saw Soul Blazer in the top 20 for that system. Had it in my collection for a decade. Finally sat down and played it through and realized it really fucking sucks imo. Felt so strong that I sold it to another collector (for a 8X profit thanks to the absurdity of the retro market). Opinions are like assholes.
the "intro" is just 30minutes of fluff, made for game journos, the game and real intro starts when you get on the boatBought and downloaded this last night. Struggled to make it through the intro. I'll play it for a bit more but I have to echo the "I don't get it, this game kinda sucks and is immediately frustrating me more than anything else" sentiment.
