I guess this is the most important news to kick off the new season thread? If there are any Red Raiders on the board.....your president and AD's statements supporting Sorsby were disgusting and I hope you lose every game.

Not a TT guy, but this decision was almost guaranteed while the law suit against the NCAA was on-going. These types of injunctions are almost routine when litigation is on-going.

This moral fagging in response to this Sorsby case is just another clear indication as to why people that use their alma maters to make up a big part of their core identity are spiritual women. The cognitive dissonance needed to draw the conclusion that "my SCHOOL WOULD NEVER" is hilarious; all these people with the holier than thou saber-rattling thinking there has been any ethics in college sports for decades is hilarious.

Cody Campbell is performing accelerationism, speed running college athletics to a post-NCAA landscape - and college athletics will be better for it. Despite the SEC & B1G leadership's retarded posturing and greed. For years and years the law of the land has indicated time and time again that the NCAA is toothless, that is the bigger problem. It's not some QB who made some minor bets that had no effect on a game. Yes, should a serious body be able to actually enforce their rules - of course. The sooner you get congressional action, the better.

Is this Sorsby stuff worth it to Tech? Who knows, there is a good chance it may not be.

No. The hate coming at the TTU Administration and Cody Fat-Fuck Campbell has nothing to do with them defending Sorsby and everything to do with them hiding behind gambling as a fucking disease that he is "recovering from" instead of admitting that they made a 6 million dollar gamble on a fucking retard with no good backup plan and need him to play or their season is FUCKED. Instead they are using weasel-worded language about "support" and "mental health" while dodging the fact that they could still provide Sorsby with all of these services while disallowing him from playing a single game. They went from the scrappy upstart with billionaire backing to a bunch of vile liars who will do *literally* anything to win. They can get fucked and I will relish every single second of it.

Has any other school sued the NCAA after an initial decision on banning / sanctioning a school / player / coach? YES. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. HAS. You're fucking hypocrisy is overwhelming. OF COURSE TT is going to do everything they can to win, including trying to get an injunction against a punishment issued by the NCAA. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER SCHOOL HAS EVER DONE. So you can FUCK RIGHT OFF with your righteous indignation. Unless you think OU should just tuck their tail between their legs and bend over the next time the NCAA hits them with some kind of sanction. (which they won't)

Are you being serious here trying to claim the extra years of eligibility lawsuits are even remotely the same? Chambliss from Ole Miss and Heinecke from OU both sued because they said they had eligibility issues stemming from injuries and should have the extra year.

Sorsby bet on his own fucking team, like the one thing every athlete is told is the biggest rule in sports because now if you cost your team the game no one can be sure if you did it on purpose or not. I wouldn't be surprised if he is being criminally investigated because that is what happens in sports betting cases nationally.

Even going back to the eligibility cases, the VA QB Chandler Morris tried to petition for a 7th year due to "mental injuries" that were never diagnosed or disclosed. He was denied, but if he had sued and a judge would have granted that load of shit then everyone would be up in arms about how this opens the door for unlimited years of eligibility. They would have been correct.

I get why Tech is doing it, I just think that hiding behind "mental illness" and "helping student athletes" is so nakedly disgusting that they should be mocked relentlessly and get a boot shoved up their ass at every turn.

Subject matter is immaterial to process. OU is suing the NCAA because the NCAA delcared one of it's players ineligible. WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING THIS???? Fucking hypocrite.
