The teaser trailer for this movie was great, just enough info to make the movie seem interesting and that's it. Could have done without showing two of the kills, but ultimately most people probably wouldn't remember that stuff by the time it released anyway. Even the plot description was super vague back then too.

... and then some gigantic faggot over at New Line took charge and decided the only way to sell a horror/thriller movie is to spoil the entire setup. Not just trailer spoilers either, because some people don't watch new trailers once they've already decided to see something -- oh no, we need full-on spoilers in all the plot descriptions and even on the fucking posters, just to be sure.

Not sure why it bothers me so much, since the actual reveal happens like 20 minutes in and the movie itself is majorly let down by a weak final confrontation between Iris and Josh that was way too concerned about hitting the viewer over the head with allegory instead of having a cool action sequence, but still... I guess it was just another unneeded reminder that you can never hate Hollywood people enough.

Pretty good. I want one.
But ffs, I hope theyre actually pretty. This girls top lip being all fucked up was ruining any type of imagination I could have with a robot like her.
Movie was "ok" - I wont watch it again as they left a lot of cool shit off the table.. I guess to make the Robot more "corporate" "Apple" kind of tech? Like for having Super Intelligence being available after the jail break - bro, she was still doing stupid shit after that. Then, the way they described it? What was it "Ivy League" intelligence? Well wait, no.. now it all makes sense.

I swear Matt Damon has the same lip. She might be cute but all I could think about is Matt Damon wearing lipstick and a wig.

Watched this yesterday with the wife. Meh.

Seems like girl porn to me. She gets to enjoy some time as a dumb bimbo fuckbot, but then she gets revenge on all those mean, mean men that don't respect her. I'm not exactly the target audience though. I don't really watch movies like this anyways.

The gay fuckbot was a good actor though. I had to go look that guy up and see what else he was in.

bluray (rips) are out, saw this last night for date movie night. wife liked it more than me for the reasons above but I thought it was fine. The first 2/3'd of the movie is fun, especially if you are a fan of Blade Runner, Ex Machina, Her, etc. I like how the movie updates the concepts of AI/androids/etc to a modern 2025 take when it comes to a connected internet world, corporations, transactional relationships, etc.

the last 1/3d kinda sucks though and it leans hard into drama instead of tech/scifi. There are a million ways it could have been more interesting but its fairly predictable.

nothing really special from an acting/casting standpoint, honestly Jack McQuaid is getting annoying playing variations of the same guy. The one weird thing to me in the movie was how important a goal actual real cash was, most people under 20s I know never even carry cash around anymore, everything is digital payment.

solid 6/10 if you like AI movies, if you don't like them no reason to watch. This is pretty much in the middle tier of AI/robot movies.
