Saw it a few weeks back. Not a masterpiece, it feels the scenario leaves some juice in the lemon in the 3rd act, but still, I very much enjoyed seeing a well crafted non-comedic American cop and robber movie in theater. It's a type of movie that basically almost disappeared in the US with the rise of TV/streaming shows. With it, the far inferior Mercy or the somewhat ok Play Dirty, it seems some of these thrillers might be coming back thanks in part to the super-hero fatigue?

It should be noted that many types of mid range budget thrillers that the US stopped making (serial killer movies, spy movies, heist movies, etc) got picked up with great success by the South Korean film industry. I mean, while I was watching Crime 101 I thought "This is pretty good, it feels like a SK movie!".

It felt like it was trying to be smarter, deeper, and more emotional than it actually was. That and trying to be Heat I give it a 5/10

Barry Koegan was prob the most interesting character of the lot. He was their Wanegro

There were a few kind of over done tropes here, but it wasn't bad. Not amazing, but I didn't want my 2 hours back after watching.

Solid "not bad, watchable, probably not going to ever watch again" category.

I thought this was a good movie, but found myself constantly comparing it to Heat, and it falls short in almost every way. That comes off harsher than I deserves, beause it is a good movie, but it's just not a masterpiece like Heat.

Standard decent flick. Not mind blowing, but also no low spots. Now going to watch American Animals by the same director.

Good movie. Kept me engaged for pretty much the whole movie. But like every movie these days could of been like 20 mins shorter.
