He is clearly being sarcastic. He's very much a horror fan.

Been a long time since I watched the early movies but I also found Jason killing pretty sus because IIRC he started killing because he saw his mom get killed? I might be making that up

None of it makes any sense at all. His mom was killing kids because Jason drowned because he was a little mutoid kid and couldn't swim. But apparently he's a revenant and comes back and has supernatural powers and can't be killed. I mean that's okay but he came back because they needed to do another movie, and his mom was dead so what are you going to do.

The Friday the 13th movies have never been one of my favorite horror franchises.

I did see Freddy versus Jason in the movie theater back in college and it was hilarious. That's why this dumbass show is just going to be pile of garbage. There's nothing serious or any reason why you should try to make something serious out of what is just stupid 80s horror. Embrace the absurdity is the only way to actually make something like this entertaining.

But also don't watch horror movies at all so maybe don't take my word or opinions about any of this seriously.

The real answer is the first movie made so much money they had to figure out a way to make a sequel. The ending scene from the first movie was meant to be a dream sequence, but they decided to to have an adult Jason in the sequel and never really explained why he stayed in the woods after surviving the drowning.

Jason was also never intended to be a supernatural force from the beginning. His death in part 4 was meant to be permanent, but part 5 flopped so bad they decided to bring him back. Part 6 is very much influenced by the classic Universal monster movies and made him a killing machine version of Frankenstein.

As for Jason's motive, he was a deformed mongoloid with hydrocephalus which not only caused him to get bullied, but also slowed his social development. So he hates people from the get go; then sees his mom get decapitated by the same type of person that tormented/ignored him as a child. There's also a comic series about young Jason, called Pamela's Tale, which I don't think is cannon, but he showed sadistic tendencies even as a child, torturing animals among other things.

I knew the logistical reason they made the follow on movies. I just couldn't remember if 'officially' he saw his mom get killed or if that was something they retconned way later

He died as a kid because he was a little mutant retard, and that's why his mom murdered all of the people. That was the story, he was dead. Doesn't matter because he was just a plot element. This shit isn't Citizen Kane or anything.

But he magically comes back to get revenge because I guess they killed his mom and now he's just remnant zombie man and still can't swim as afraid of water. Why does this magically happen it's because I guess the original movie was successful and we got a figure out a way to keep the crap going.

Friday the 13th was a big deal growing up with III being the peak for me, but once they started to crank these out once a year I didn't bother to keep up. Also movies like Hellraiser and Prince of Darkness came out around the same time which really shifted my interests away from the standard slasher trope.

After all this time I'm just now finding out the final scene of Friday the 13th was NOT an intentional foreshadowing of Jason coming back? Jason was written as a "victim" and was never intended to pick up where his mom left off?

I even went back and watched the final scene again to confirm what I thought I saw as a kid. Holy shit the acting is fucking awful, but once you get around that the final line in the movie is the chick saying "Then he's still there" with a slow fade to the lake and credits.

I was like 9 or some shit when I saw that for the first time and you want to tell me that boogieman was just a dream and was never coming back?

Yea fuck that. I'll stick with the retconned version I remember.

You're really angry about this. Now I have to rewatch the movies to see how much the Jews are involved
