Daredevil: Born Again

I just finally started season 2, and one of the characters faces hit me right away. It's that weird guy Fisk hires to help move the sunken guns into his warehouse. He's from way back in that Hackers movie! He still has a young face, even though he's old now.

Anyway, wtf is this show even doing? An entire episode where nothing happened and then we end up on another cliff hanger on her possibly dying again? Jesus fucking christ, Marvel's incompetence is getting to the point where it's starting to be impressive in its own way

binged through season 2 since its all out. First 4 episodes are pretty mediocre to bad, but it does pick up in episodes 5-8. I think it gets as good as the original Netflix Daredevil in some moments, although there are a bunch of characters you don't give a single fuck about. Really outside of Matt, Kingpin, Bullseye, JJ, and Karen everyone else could die and no one would really care.

There is some really ham fisted attempts to make Kingpin a stand in for Trump and the AVTF like ICE but fortunately they mostly stay in character and don't turn to the camera and try to give anti Trump speeches. Kingpin is pretty scary the second half, especially the finale. I don't really understand at all the deals being made in the show, "you just killed like 50 people ok you can go" lol

If you liked the Netflix Daredevil show season 2 is worth a watch. If you are out on the Marvel shit this isn't gonna change your mind, its a solid 6.5/10 at best. The first half of the season really, really drags.

I enjoyed it. And they did almost try too hard to draw a kingpin trump parallel. Just enough restraint to have a partial eye roll from me, but it was entertaining to me

as said, kingpin has some moments in this season on par with the door head slamming scene from Daredevil S1 that pretty much solidified that season as a comic book adaption all-timer to me. At least in this iteration they got that character right. I like Charlie Cox as daredevil. I would love to see him actually with Spiderman.

I did not care for the big court reveal because like any of this shit it seems it’s painting the writers into a corner that they’ll have to hand wave away and maybe removes tension without adding anything of substance. Maybe I’ll be surprised.

Also, maybe I’m the only one that theme music hits, but I find the daredevil theme to be an all-timer. I don’t know how you could really do the character justice in a game, but I would love to play a hyper violent daredevil story.

No idea how anyone could like this shit. It was beyond retarded.

Every part of it. There's nothing redeeming about it. From this pure retardation of scuttling a ship in shallow water to "hide" it.

Fisk's vigilante squads being a straight up ICE fantasy is The Boys level of subtle writing.

James Gandolfini's son being the dumbest son of a bitch on the planet and simping for the black chick who fucks him over and gets him killed. What was the point of him even existing? Why are we supposed to think she's one of the heroes?

Fisk kills tons of people, including trying to kill the governor, and she just lets him leave with no consequences?? Then he kills like 12 more people after the deal is offered and that's not a problem?

Matt reveals he's Daredevil to win the court case, but it turns out it's not even relevant? It's just because the judges have a conflict of interest with Fisk? What the fuck?

And now Daredevil's in prison because of "crimes" he committed in the past? That's not how anything works. You have to have specifics for every single charge, including specific evidence and witnesses and go through trials and shit. It's not just "Daredevil worked outside the law so go to prison now"

There's way more dumb shit I don't even want to think about because it pisses me off how badly they fucked all this up
