Yeah, seems a bit disjointed. I am not sure if there's a good way to show multiple concurrent timelines with the same characters though, but I agree with your take - the standalone episodes are good, but they just don't fit into the story in any reasonable way.

I was going to condemn Charlie as being beyond retarded, but I don't think the show has ever shown them explaining to him *why* they are hiding from a swarm of dad clones. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in not knowing that he's causing exactly the same thing.

Truthfully, there should be a swarm of "clones" of anyone who has used the box. All possibilities are realized so there should be an infinite number of them running around now.

I only just finished the first season so I haven't read through the thread.

Quick question about the finale for S1:

This was probably just an oversight but wtf happened with Blair (the short haired blonde heavy chick) and Jason 2 (box creator) + Scar Jason? We see Blair pepper spray Scar Jason and take his gun then ask both Jason 2 and Scar Jason to explain what the fuck is going on, then it cuts away and never goes back to them. The follow-up is Jason 2 goes to the lake house and helps OG Jason and family escape. We never see what happens to Scar Jason or Blair, do we? Unless Scar Jason was just in the mix of all the Jason's converging on the lake house at the end...

just binged through the 9 episodes of season 2 so far, the entire season feels entirely pointless and dull. there are definitely touching moments and scenes but nothing memorable really jumps out. i hope the finale is good but the show is dragging so hard.

there are many, many scenes of people walking for 30 seconds to a building we see in the background. thats it, just walking. i know, because i started fast forwarding (30 sec jump) and they were still sometimes walking lol

i think you could cut season 2 down to a 90 minute movie

The bizarre thing to me is I feel like the last episode finally introduced whatever the tension is supposed to be for the season, the giant box. Except the season is almost over. They piddled around for 4/5ths of the season and now there's no time to develop anything.

You can't spend 5 episodes of 10 on nothing and expect a renewal.

A lot of the takes here are out of touch with the general audience. They needed to attach a co-writer to adopt the author's screenplays he wrote for television. Apple didn't anticipate that based on how Season 1 went, and gave him too much creative freedom.

It's missing a giant "written for television by" co-credit. The author is completely out of his depth in Season 2.

Went to go watch today's episode and didn't realize that last week was the finale. I honestly forgot what even happened because it really didn't stand out. Reading the synopsis and I'm like...oh. Man, this show really became a let down.

It went from "plausible sci-fi" to "Syfy garbage" in a hurry. Like that little "device" they made to destroy all the boxes. Does it make any sense? Nope, but it's a great plot device! (is it though?)

I suppose it's already clear where they'll go with season 3. Bad Jason and good Jason will team up to rebuild a box and blah blah blah, around we go forever. Season 2 wasted so much time that I didn't even have a plot line to grasp onto to remember that they even had a finale. Season 3 will be one of those ones I wait to see how it's panning out before watching, which likely means I'm done with this one forever.

A change in showrunner ala Picard season 2 to Season 3 would get a view from me.

But no interest in the author acting as showrunner, or sole writing duty. So for me-- it's as simple as checking the Season 3 credits to decide whether it's worth the time investment.

Attach a co-writer, or change showrunners and I'm down to check back in Season 3 Episode 1.
