Anyone play(ing) the Cinders mod? It's a total overhaul of the game. Thinking of ditching a Horizon Dawn replay I've been doing for this. Guess it has been out for a spell but I just came across it today

I am, it is somewhat balanced now and feels like an alternate to the game.

How different is it? I most play Dark Souls on my PS4 but I do have it on PC I believe.

You can read all the patch notes but the short version is everything, from zone lines to what mobs do, to all the weapons and spells etc. The world itself is the shell and everything in it is different.

I'm a sucker for the giant 2 handers. You can get a pretty good one in the swamp area before the watchers and the one from DS2's most annoying DLC boss shortly after the watchers.

Last two patches pretty much made ALL the changes again. When this mod is done you can install it again and have another new experience.

I've done strength builds before and I used the Farron Greatsword last time. Never used the big mace though or dex builds. Might be going with the twinblades or something.

I have been a sucker for the Moonlight Greatsword in every one of these games, especially since it was in the pre Souls FROM games. Solid weapon with some unique quirks. I used to also really like going Spear and Shield, but there just has not been a decent one handed spear with a good moveset since Demon Souls. Some of the pikes are good, though, and are relatively easy to get. In DS3, though, the sword from the giant undead king guy is very good for PvE with little in the way of major stat commitment.
