Daybreak owns the D&D Online ip now too, which I actually quite enjoyed during my time playing it. They own a pretty solid lineup of mmos now.Had no idea DC online was so much bigger than EQ.
Fangbreaker is Restricted Truebox which means you can have at max two accounts running, and they each need their own computers. They do not enforce the 2 account limit at all though.Fangbreaker is truebox. As most TLP are. One client per pc. You can play as many PCs as you want. Eventually all TLP to go relaxed truebox at Omens of war that allows 3 clients per computer.
there is no rule or enforcement of bot armies
It's my fault. I should have created the thread sooner so that we could be China#1.Kinda insulting to be listed after resetera...
I know it went chronologically by post date but still
^ thisMaybe DPG plan all along was to release a terrible ruleset and then use the low population as a key point that THJ is taking away their business in the lawsuit.
You can't make money off of someone else's software.
Did THJ fuck up by accepting money? Yeah. Duh. You can't make money off of someone else's software.
Did Everquest's Fangbreaker server suffer from THJ's emu server? Fuck no. Fangbreaker was a pile of dogshit from design to creation. Fangbreaker was a failure because of the people at Darkpaw Games making one bad decision after another.
There's no question that THJ is fucked, but for DBG to blame them for Fangbreaker being a failure is beyond laughable.

So I guess THJ will be in the clear as soon as they break out that licensing agreement that they've been sitting on?I don't why people keep commenting stuff like this when it's not true. Owning the copyright to something doesn't mean you can tear up older licensing agreements among other things.
