Deception 4: Blood Ties

The Deception series has always been a ton of fun, good to see it coming back. I still recall some elegant multi hit combo that ended with a guy getting launched into a fireplace and burning to death. Good times.

Having never heard of this series before, the above video makes it look like the best way to describe the gameplay is torture porn. Fair assessment or is there actual more gameplay?

Well for the first game, at the beginning of each level you get a grid of the area and lay your different traps (wall, floor and ceiling). The whole premise is you lure the enemies into your traps to kill them, you cant fight physically at all. Also there were environmental hazards (fire, spikes, guillotines, etc.) that you could combo with traps. For example: You could use a floor to trap to catapult an enemy to a specific spot at a wall, then have the wall trap push the enemy into spikes, that have a huge boulder crush him from above. Its pretty much a violent and awesome strategy game where traps are your only weapon.
