I wouldn't count too much on being able to ebay bundled games, invariably a lot of people have the same idea and flood the auction sites with the same title.
i don't know what games come bundled, but i did a quick search on ebay for buy it now
batman arkham origins pc | eBay

basically if new video cards give you a game download key, you can sell that off for a quick 15bucks on ebay, no shipping either, just email the guy the key.

Can anyone make a recommendation on a ~$200 Nvidia card that isquiet? And I don't mean quiet when idle. I'm talking about when playing a game I don't want to hear shit (and no jokes about wearing headphones).

I dunno man... Anything with a fan is gonna makesomenoise. You could go fanless but the cooling for that gets pricey. Some of the quiter cards on the market with fans are the Gigabyte Windforce 760/770, and the MSI GTX 660 based on my own research.

I'm impressed.

Ordered my Qnix monitor off of Ebay last Thursday night from a Korean seller. Shipped from South Korea at 2am Friday morning, hit Seoul on Saturday, Anchorage Alaska on Sunday, and just arrived at my office at 10am Monday in Kansas City. Was free shipping, just came standard UPS, no crazy next-day air or anything.

Now I just need the work day to hurry up and end so I can get this mofo hooked up

I don't expect the card to be completely silent but not a jet turbine either.

I bought an HIS Ice-Q Radeon card a couple years ago and it's been great. Sure you can kinda hear it at full load, but with other background noise going on you wouldn't notice it. That's what I'm looking for. I can't go by NewEgg reviews because most will state a card is "quiet" but they are saying this when at idle.

Unfortunately HIS doesn't make any nVidia cards otherwise I'd stick with them.

Honestly, a lot of video card noise comes down to your case, and how well the air flows and can keep things cool. If the fans on your video card can stay at 50% RPM or less and still cool the card appropriately, then it's going to be pretty quiet overall. I've got SLI'd 660Tis, and while playing Assassins Creed 4 last night, they never went over about 60 degrees celsius which kept my fans varying between 25% and 50% RPMS, they don't ramp up to 100% until the cards hit 80 degrees.

A lot of video card manufacturers software packages will let you manually set the various fan levels. I've used both EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner software and both will let you manually set fan RPM levels. I really don't consider a video card even remotely hot until you're well over 80 degrees celsius, so I keep my fans 50% or below until they get to that point.

Between the water cooler on my CPU and manually controlling the fans on my GPUs, the loudest thing in my PC is the mechanical hard drives for storage, thats about the only sound that comes out of my case (I also use multiple HUGE 240mm case fans. They spin relatively slow while pushing a LOT of air, but you need a huge case to use them)

Do people use 21-24 inch monitors anymore? Any recommendations for best in that size range?
I thought someone posted a nice ASUS 24" on the last few pages but couldn't find it. You can't get 1440p at 24" that I know of, but do think there are 120 / 144 hz in that size. Unfortunately the sweet spot seems to be 27" right now for what is being produced. If you were set on 24" though I'd probably still stick to ASUS, I have 2x 24" to go along with my 27" korean and love them both. Now I need to take myself over to the Computer Issues thread again b/c this stupid Windows 8.1 SLI stuff is messing up again.

I bought a cheap dell 24" 1080p for like $130 and its all I need. I mean IPS is the way to go, but while you are playing on your PC your right in front of it anyway so it does not matter, or at least to me anyway. The new 1440p are nice too, but it just takes too much horsepower to run them at a decent FPS, so Ill pass until the future when we can get decent horsepower at a cheaper price to run them. Fuck spending $500 on a video card.

I have a pair of the nice new dell 24" IPS 1080p at work and they are the boss, but they are like +/- $500

Can barely tell my 780 is running, its silent.
but you are obviously paying for that, the thing is fucking fortified so well, and compact.

The last card i had 4850x2 was about 3-4 times as loud as this 780.

Newegg.com - ASUS VG248QE Black 241 Built-in Speakers

best one atm for 1080p, it does 144hz and is is the "reference" gSync monitor. For browsing/docs 1900x1200 is great, but don't get it for gaming or videos since you'll get black bars in a lot of stuff (16:10 vs 16:9) which is a bit annoying. For 27" the korean eBay QNiX 2710s for $300-350 are great, they are 2560x1440 (16:9), OC to 120hz, stunning displays, and great for FPS/gaming/movies.

Granted, I don't do a lot of gaming on my PC anymore, but the games I have played support 16:10 just fine (I can confirm Guild Wars 2 and WoW). I really can't imagine a game strictly forcing 1920x1080 on you.

So i dont know where else to put this i dont think there is a CS:GO thread and if there is its way passed what i went through and i went deep, but i just set up my new pc got BF4 running, chivalry, dota 2 all work great Pc is silent runs nice, now i go and load up CS:GO and this just started happening today it was working fine earlier and yesterday.

but now when i start a game my computer makes a weird ass noise and im not 100% sure where its coming from, tested all the other games and they all work the same no weird noises.

I just opened up the case but i cant pinpoint where its coming from, it sounds like wires rubbing or something squeking/scratching, it eventually gets a little quieter but idk if something is wrong or what, and i dont have anything rubbing or else id hear it all the time... so its really weird.

That's strange. To me, it sounds like a fan is spinning up and there's perhaps a wire/cord rubbing against the fan blades. Why the fan wouldn't be spinning with other games I don't know (unless they are less taxing graphically?).

As a test, try taking the side panel off if it has a fan. Sometimes the wires will get mashed up against something when you slide it back on.

well im 90% sure its my video card making the noise, now i guess i gotta just figure out why?

there is literally no wires anywhere near the fans for the video card, it honestly sounds like something is rubbing/touching but then it also sounds like its struggling idk it just does not sound like its working right basically, i dont expect it to be silent, but the sound is just weird and dosent sound ok.
