yeah, I was in the middle of typing a followup. everytings either overpriced or out of stock. sucks.

I think 4070ti or 5070ish is where I'd aim atm. similar to the 7900xtx, but should be cheaper.. I definitely cant afford 1k. ideally aim closer to 700.

any word on the 5070's? brand new...

oh, dang I should have refreshed first.
I just ordered this asus one before. there were a ton of reviews on amazon for this one. many of the others didnt have any reviews.
also, not going to lie, I don't really know the differences between models within. like the gigabyte windfroce versus eagle there...

(the 1070 I have in my machine right now, to get work done, etc. is a Gigabyte.)

Windforce isn’t factory oc’d, the Eagle and Shadow are. Both Gigabyte cards are “small form factor” cards, so they’re theoretically small enough for ITX cases. The MSI is a little longer. The TUF is oc’d and has a bigger, fatter, fancier housing. You’re paying for the TUF branding and not any real world performance gains.

the problem is finding them in stock, right now atm, amazon has
XFX Quicksilver AMD Radeon RX 9070XT Gaming Edition with 16GB GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP, AMD RDNA 4 RX-97TQICKBA

sold from amazon, i woulda bought this if it was available but you never know when anything is available

and if youre gonna get ripped off or not, that is sold from amazon dot com, so less of a chance

like don't buy cards from these faggots or anyone not amazon

I got my 7900 XT for $599 at Microcenter earlier in the month on a promo, but it's great - I haven't been disappointed in it at all.

7900XT is still a good card. Same with the 7900XTX (but not worth it at ~$1k today). The lowest I recall the 7900XT was ~$629 during the '24 BF days, at least at a non-Microcenter. I was able to pick up a 7900XT Hellhound for $639 from Amazon a few months back, so hopefully with patience others can find decent deals. Also grabbed an Asrock Steel Legend 7600 8GB (for HTPC) for $249 a month ago from Amazon.

Picked up a 9070xt, now debating selling/piecing out old computer and going full team Red with a new build, especially if I can get near what other people are asking for my 3080Ti FE.

How long did the previous one last?

12 or 13 years at least. I've tried a few alternatives but nothing works as well (particularly the thumbstick placement/orientation). I didn't know they were discontinued until at least a couple of years after, else I would have bought up at least a dozen. Glad I had at least one spare. I would think Logitech could sell updated models (mech switches, oled screen and better rgb) for $150+ as long as they keep the form factor. I am going to have to look into modding and repair. Keeping the old one for parts just in case, and I do have another one being used on a second system. I also use thumb trackballs (ergo advanced and m575).

575 is what I use with an Orbweaver Chroma because the G13 was discontinued, and I refuse to pay the asking prices online. lol

Looking at some pre-mades for ease of use and limited time. Thinking of the two below. The Maingear seems the better deal, but honestly I'm so ignorant these days on hardware specs that just because the numbers are bigger, I'm not sure if that's better? Looking to be under $3,000 for the computer. Have all the peripherals and the monitors already.

Any other high-end options that I'm missing? I skipped Falcon due to cost.
