If this is for work / school, the easiest would be to dump them in rackmounted cases with some 200 cfm fans in a server room.

Something like this and with the money you save from watercooling you can add another 5 cards.

Wow 15 cards, your going to have fun getting that all setup and leak tested. Not really sure about manufactures other than ek butfrozencpuhas quite a few. I have not WCed any AMD cards but I know for nvidia it's really important to know if you have a reference board or not for proper block fit, might want to look into that.

For sure.

If you have a climate controlled data center to put them in this would be probably be more cost effective. Not sure how much clock speed you would lose from thermal throttling but like gogusrl says you could use the extra money saved from not WC to just add more cards.

I'm willing to bet there won't be any thermal throttling if noise isn't a factor and you don'tfuck aroundwith the case fans.

Heh, I just got access to a cluster that is not being used on campus. 500 cores, average usage doesn't go above 1% for more than a few seconds. $5/month and there are no constraints on my usage. Sad thing? For operations that could be vectorized, some GPUs would probably outperform it. Then again, that's also more work than doing some Python code.

The engineering cluster, on the other hand, is booked solid and they're rationing access. Nothing like having your own toys to play with.

I added this to my cart on Amazon while I was taking a look at some other mounts. Left work and was going to read some more just to do some due diligence before purchasing. I get home, hop on the computer, and of freaking course they're sold out. There was 5 on Amazon at the time I added it, thought I was safe. Sorta fucked myself. So I checked a few other spots, got mad, and said screw it, I'll do three individual mounts. Tested a single arm one from MyCableMart (basically Monoprice but a local place for peeps in the Minneapolis area) last night on my 24" and it was sturdy as hell. I thought it would be similar to the Monoprice one but it is definitely stronger. Going to buy two more today.

Sale on Monoprice. $390 for a 27" IPS monitor is a fairly good deal. Not sure how it compares to ordering from Korea, but thought people might be interested.

GTX 650ti or GTX 750ti? I looked at the reviews and specs and it seems the 750 is better in all areas but shaders and texture mapping, so I don't know which I should pick.

Finally found one in stock locally, can't wait to replace this 6850.

I think I am asking the wrong question in Google. It ought to be possible to take a 7.1 sound card and turn it into 4 2-channel stereo streams, so long as you can separate the outputs like that. Apparently this works with some soundcards and with others there are custom drivers. I can't find a name for this feature though, which makes it tough to figure out if a sound card does it. Any help?

So I got all setup over the weekend. I went into the MyCableMart store on Saturday and the original plan was to buy two more of the single monitor mounts after testing that first one and being rather pleased with it. Welp, of course they were out of stock... and the model was no longer available for reorder. I decided to just give their two monitor mount a whirl, really expecting it to be a piece of shit but I am 100% happy with it after getting my first monitor on it. It is actually MORE sturdy than the single mount despite having a lower weight rating. Here's the single and double I now have:

Here's a pic of the setup. I'm still waiting for the VESA mount adapter to arrive for my Dell S2240M so I can get all three up on mounts. Bit of tweaking to do yet too but I like it so far:



Side note: I also bought aLogitech G930over the weekend. Why didn't I buy a wireless headset earlier? Being able to walk around my entire apartment without having to constantly take the headset on/off or listening to music on headphones while cooking or whatever without cords is awesome. The headset it self is decent enough, sounds much better than the piece of shit I had before. Having surround (even if it is a "gimmick" as some people say) is a fucking god send in CS:S after the shit I had before. I do see how some of the reviewers I'd heard prior to buying said it could be a little uncomfortable after a while. It isn't a problem for me. Also it isn't the best at noise cancellation but it does the job well enough.

I would advise against using a clamp on glass. I don't have experience with it but I did have a glass desk not too long ago and there's no chance in hell I would mount one of these onto it. The grip is too tight and glass is too brittle. I could be wrong but from a layman's standpoint it would be a bad idea.

Is your desk against a wall? Get a wall mount with 3 arms (or 3 individual, whatever).

If you are going to clamp to glass, I would at least put some sort of large, thin piece of wood or hard plastic between the clamp and the glass. The bigger(wider) the better to spread out the pressure of the clamp over a larger area.

I'd put a pad between the wood/glass too if that mount doesn't have one.
