Question regarding ladders cause I never done one in Diablo. So a ladder is a race to the top with while attempting to gain the best gear? Once the ladder is over do you lose your character or you keep it? Do you gain any special items or just bragging rights that you ranked high in the ladder?

In Diablo 2, Ladder Characters were seperate from Normal Characters, and could not group with non-ladder characters. When a ladder ended, the Ladder-Character became a Normal Character, and moved into the general population of characters. The ladders often contained special items or runewords that only dropped during the ladder season, for ladder characters. For instance, if you wanted a Rune Word that let you turn into a Lich and shoot life-draining fireballs at people, you had to go farm on a ladder character.

I don't know how well Ladders will translate to Diablo 3, though. In Diablo 2, if you were into the game, you were leveling alts frequently to try out new skill builds/new character builds that only worked with specific equipment, because the option wasn't there to just respec your already-max-level character. It'll feel kinda derpy having to relevel for each ladder when nothing else in game gives you pre-existing incentive to level alts.

Additionally, Paragon stuff being account-wide kind of undermines one of the appealing bits of Ladders to some people, the ability to "fresh start" and be competitive when a new ladder begins. Good luck with that if you haven't been hanging around grinding AA.

Decent amount of mobs and 4+ elite packs and I hate farming NV 5 again, so it is worth it in my book.

I feel like the game actively hates me: Lacuni Prowlers without any primary stats, The Occulus ring without any CC/CD/AS...

March 18th is a pretty interesting date to choose, as its exactly the 1 year anniversary of the Treasury Department issuing draft laws requiring that virtual currency exchanges must be regulated the same as banks. For some reason I'm thinking this has less to do with "saving the game" than it does trying to avoid the enormous expense of complying with banking laws.

I didn't read it all, but I'm guessing this thing only would apply to the real money auction house? So if they weren't doing it for the good of the game, they could have left the gold auction house in operation.

Of course, what do you think I was referring to when I said "really low MP"? That dude's build isn't even ideal.http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...XSjk!YZ!bZbYbZYou can switch out air ally, it really isn't needed. But this build allows you to deal with elites by dropping a bell on them and moving on. The rune on sweeping winds in flexible. And look how many times he had to run back to get mobs. The whole point is to kill things as you run through them, no stopping at all. Which means this type of build is shit for farming. You play on the lowest difficulty, so your drops are going to be bad. I say farm for gear, get xp while doing that. I think since the last patch, high MP farming offers more XP/hour anyway.

Oh, one of his gear recommendations are bad too. You can easily get a much better Skorn for cheap if you take away life steal as a requirement and use life on kill. If you really want to do something like this, watch the videos of the guy that actually came up with it. I think his youtube channel is druin13.

I'm not arguing for or against the efficacy of it, but I do know I did very well with it last night on my first try. My problem with it is that it's a silly way to fight, lol.

D3 on consoles is much more enjoyable for me than it was on PC, I'm getting close to max level, and if it stays how its been i might actually be able to call it a good game. My biggest worry though is just how far apart development cycles are for PC/Console and how long we will have to wait for stuff like Paragon 2.0 and RoS.
