Don't worry about whether or not you're getting better. Focus on having fun and learning something about the game. Once the mechanics are second nature and you know what every hero is capable of and how they generally play, your skill will take care of itself. Just don't get trapped emulating "pros/better" players. There's several different ways to play each hero and it all should be based off the game you're playing with your team. The game is still very much strategy and tactics, but it's still a game.

So I spent a lot of yesterday playing this for the first time. The game is good but I seriously don't understand how anyone would want to play this over league. There isn't a single aspect about dota that outshines league in any respect at all. The game honestly looks and feels like it was made 10 years ago. I like it and all and I'll play more of it but league is honestly a light year ahead of this game.

Why would I not be serious about that comment? So because I like league better means I should never play dota? I'm actually not sure if YOU'RE being serious. Dota is a good game to fall back on if you like the genre but are burnt out from league. However after playing it, it's easy to see that league is going to be #1 and for a very long time.

Dota 2 is unnecessarily complex in a bad way. In terms of the depth of game play itself, league is good deal more complex than dota2. League has a great deal more customization as well with runes and masteries and summoner spells. Just even in terms of spectating games it's about 10x easier to follow what's going on in a game of league than it is in dota2. There's no way dota 2 comes anywhere close to league in the e-sport scene simply because it is actually painful to watch since it's much more difficult to follow.

Dota 2 isn't more complex, it's just very un-intuitive. There's a very big difference. In terms of actual skill based game play, league is superior in every aspect. Not saying Dota 2 isn't a difficult game but saying it's more complex is simply as retarded as you can get. If league wasn't complex I highly doubt I'd be the only diamond 1 ranked player on these forums considering how many people on here play the game. In fact I believe there is only 1 or 2 other people on these forums that even reached diamond and there's more league players than dota2 players. If league isn't complex and I can completely shit on everyone on these forums then what does that say about all of you?
