Why is it that every time I find myself on a gaming website (looking up info on Bloodborne in this case), I ALWAYS see a bunch of breathless Dragon Age: The Veilguard articles in the trending tabs and in all the bottom of article thumbnails?

This bluesky thing seems pretty fake and gay. AKA a bunch of posturing. Wonder how long it'll be "a thing" before people start going back to X so they can get actual engagement/views/attention from a platform that actually has a ton of people on it.

What a shit year. Besides Metaphor and Elden Ring that list is garbage.

Its sad that COD still runs the FPS market and apparently the rest of the game market. A total fucking waste of time for anyone playing. The game is literally built as a cash shop to get you to keep spending money. Every menu in that game is to drive you to purchase something. FPS market is so ripe to get disrupted, really needs to happen.

i mean apex and fortnite and valorant already did that, didn't they? you don't even need to play for COD, warzone (and all the others) are f2p

i play BO6 multiplayer every day and enjoy it and have never spent a penny on skins (well, I bought the rambo skin years ago cuz fuck yeah but nothing else), if you have any amount of self control you can enjoy Call of Duty and not pay anything extra. Fortnite and COD have insane amounts of built in content and modes. The real big problem is young gamers ONLY play 1-2 GAAS games and don't buy ANY single player games at all, creating the vortex of suck nowadays where most games are sent out to die.

Theres no p2w or anything, pretty much any weapon works in nuketown or the small maps, I know because I only play to do the daily quests to force myself to try different weapons/loadouts and its fun. I don't play more than 30 mins a day but thats my FPS gaming fix

I'm loving war thunder? Great F2P FPS. Sort of like old school bf1942 just without the infantry. Just planes and tonks. Which you pretty much always wanted in bf1942 anyway. Everyone would spawn camp the planes and tanks.

I think you're wrong. Who the early adopters are, and why they're leaving X, doesn't matter in the long run.

The fact that you can choose your content algorithm(s), choose your moderation service(s), and that it's a protocol and not a platform means eventually everyone will end up there. A team of 20 people are currently building and supporting a platform 20mil+ users, which is efficiency even Elon would be impressed with. X did a lot of things right, but directly monetizing engagement will eventually be the death of it as a functional platform as bots continue to fill replies with slop for fake impressions.

Again, it's a protocol not a platform. Moderation on bsky.social only affects bsky.social, for people subscribing to the official moderation service. People can setup other ATProtocol apps and other moderation services. And yet it doesn't suffer from the same problems that Mastodon does because it's an actual protocol vs just a bunch of federated instances.

Ignore the early adopters, ignore even bsky.social itself. It's been a while since a relevant new protocol hit the web, but I think ATProtocol will ultimately lead to significant shift in how social media works and make it way more like the web/HTML before the internet became dominated by 5 websites filled with screenshots of the other 4.

(Remember that you're currently posting on a technology that pre-dates social media.)
