The original Dark Arisen was just so goddamn good. One of my all time favorite games.

DD2 was such a disappointment that I am not optimistic about their ability to fix it. Some of the changes in the upcoming patches look good, like going back to 6 abilities. That would make wayfarer actually worth trying.

I hope they do this right, but I'm definitely going to wait a while after the DLC releases.
Yeah I was so stoked to play DD2 had an amazing first 10ish hours but the cracks quickly showed themselves and then it was all I could see.

Personally I really liked DD2, I think it had issues obviously and the biggest one was probably city performance but also stuff like pacing problems(way too many quests insides the city, backtracking quests, too many shit enemies everywhere), combat being too simple due to limited skill slots, difficulty not scaling, classes being poorly balanced and such but I still enjoyed my time exploring the entire world and finding all the caves and mini dungeons and stuff.

I'm looking forward to the expansion cause it looks like they're fixing a bunch of things, the main concern I have is difficulty, in Dark Arisen they raised it a good bit so maybe it'll be the same but them making so many changes that make the game easier means the difficulty would need a major jump to keep up. Might have to use mods to double the monster hp again which is pretty poor design but well still looking forward to it. Might wait 2-3months to pick it up though so they iron launch issues, we'll see. I have a good amount of games I'm planning to play at the end of the year so I'm not in a hurry to play this specifically.

I just didn’t like the random design of the world and monsters. Fucking cliffs everywhere so you could really see where the hell you are or where you are going. Then you’d come across some random goblins in the cliff, then 20 feet away you have some wolves then another 20 feet away some bandits. They should’ve flattened the world a bit, climbing sucks. And they should’ve spread the mobs out more like DD1. Have the lizards by the rivers, have bandits by bandit camps, etc. it felt like they used a randomizer to make the world and mob placement.

Of course the dog shit performance didn’t help any of that.

The cliffs and what have you were probably a design choice to help performance. But it did make traversing around a huge pain
