This is gonna have hell gates for pvp ala Albion Online which I like.

Seems like a 3 character party Secret of Mana type game but online with missions. 21 different chars expected, maybe more after that.

You can apply to try to get into the closed beta on Steam.

Brazilian based dev that isn't doing androgenous characters...

Let's see how she goes.

We need a fresh studio to bring some of this magic back.

Got in the playtest and been playing over the weekend. Starts slow like any old school MMO. Seems to pick up. Looks like there will be lots of characters to unlock if the blank spaces in the codex are indication. Movement feels really clunky, maybe by design. The input feels like it lags (on controller at least) after you release the analog stick and your character will continue doing an action (move a square over, etc). Its my one gripe about the game so far. Everything else feels fine. Combat is slow but methodical. You have to be careful not to pull too much in your adventures (kind of like dungeon instances with 3 people). Think there are bosses and other things I haven't experience yet. Only in Chapter 2 on the story and have only played the old mage guy.

Don't know if there are healers in the game, but there's definitely tanks, and the game seems to enforce that by the stat boards at the end of adventures. There is damage done and damage mitigated. Don't think there was a heal stat (might be dumb and not remember?). My guess is "healer" is rolled more into tank survivability then keeping the group alive type of stuff.

Digging the pixel art. It feels like I'm playing FFVI/Secret of Mana MMO.

Are you using your controller wired or wireless? I was using my xbone controller wireless and it had all manner of horrid input lag, but I connected it with a cable and it mostly went away.

He is referring to the grid based movement, you don’t stop moving until you are center square and you can’t move diagonally until you are centered.

It's actually super fun, once you get used to how the combat/grid system plays. Old school "tab target" too.

I'm really interested to see where they go with this. Hopefully it doesn't lean too heavily into the P2W elements, but since it's Brazilian, I have my doubts.

Yeah not being able to throw my vines diagonally was a little off putting at first, but when I got it back in my head "SNES game"... I was immersed in skill shotting again.

Minimum effort investment should be lvl 8 and a boss if its up on the rotations to decide if smash or pass on this one. You can get there rather quickly if you buy the 100% xp tokens from Selena (green dress adventure quartermaster person).

I think with open world stuff and hell gate pvp, it will be very worth whatever cheap buyin it is. I think they plan to add more abilities and I definitely want some of the other class/chars in.

I got a gem that lets me charge up and release the thorns on the druid. Pretty sick.

I looked ahead for the things you can unlock with hard mission achievements or XP with the char, nice looking visual upgrades and dyes.
