I hate comic books so I haven't read it and have no plans to even though I like florin. Maybe some day Jeff Hayes will read it to us.
as stated, tried the audio books. I've been an avid reader since I pretty much learned to read and could not get into it. Didn't help it was the tangle book. I do have book 8 as well , may try it after I finish reading it.

I'm just starting book 7 and I've loved the audiobooks, except book three (tangle). I don't know if it was the pace of the book or what but i blanked out and lost track of entire chapters - Whole thing was a blur and i intend to relisten when i can focus better.

edit to better express my point, thanks H Heian for the correction

The tangle is book 3. I'm currently reading it.(Anarchist cookbook) Book 2 was in the circus. (Doomsday scenario.)

Book 3 started a bit slow, but got better after the fanbox IMO.

I am about 2/3rds of the way through book eight. It really hasn't pulled me in as fully as the last few had. It has started to pick up a bit, so we'll see how it finishes out.

I sound so unhinged when describing this book to people in my circle. I love a good charge scene, it makes me feel feelings. So when I explain in heat 5...

...how I am nearly moved to tears imagining two former gimp suit wearing mantaurs, now whole, ridden by their love, an old lance wielding male stripper named Dong Quixote, charge to their death facing down a raging god in a molten cocaine doll elemental factory.

Side note and hopes for the remainder of the book.

I do hope they get Samantha back in a body and driving for the last race via Grigori. I feel like they foreshadowed her excellence early via Mario Kart and I could really go for that payout. That, or some form of mouth based driving control system the whip into existence.

Lit Escalates will be offering copies of DCC 1&2 Signed and Personalized by Matt Dinniman with new dust jacket art. Pre-sales go live 7/17 at Noon CST. They've also committed to doing the rest of the series. May be a good opportunity to jump on board a full hardcover set that is consistent. The 1st printings go for quite a bit I think, especially singed. (edit: I must have been thinking of something else? These are apparently just the standard Ace Hardcover books with the new dust jacket and the bookplate attached to the inside. I knew about the bookplate thing but didn't scroll down far enough to see the actual ISBN numbers of the Hardcovers. So, $100 for a signature page basically).

Just over half way done Heats 6&7 starting. RL and issues keeping me from reading as much/fast as I want to but enjoying it. Can't help but thinking this floor is like demented Mario Kart.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 8:

Auto Duel meets the quest for the gay mantaur.

Autoduel is a 1985 role-playing video game by Origin Systems, based on Steve Jackson Games' Car Wars board game, where players drive armed vehicles in a post-apocalyptic America, taking on courier missions, competing in arena battles, and upgrading their cars to survive dangerous highways. It combines RPG elements with vehicular combat, allowing deep customization of vehicles with weapons and armor, and features a non-linear structure with various ways to earn money and progress.

I loved that game (the Atari ST port, never played it on Apple II).

Sounds like it's a ripoff of that TV show Twisted Metal

Wacky Races but where people actually die is all I could think of.

Trolls in the Dungeon - no that isn't right

Snape Killed Dumbledore - no that isn't right either

Boop! Finally finished this book last night. Didn't really care for the racing , frankly didn't quite understand wtf was going on with the racing which was probably the point since most of it was from Carl's POV. The end was epic though. Now I have to go find something new to read. Hope he finishes books faster than GRRM.

I don't think the races were really the point, just what went down within them. Was so fast without all the opening boxes and level ups etc.
