I don't want to answer, depending on how far in the books you are. I will put it in spoiler.
Lucia has like a couple hundred thousand different Earth children stuck in her head. It's part of the plotline that Katia is doing now. Basically something happened and the two dogs were controlling Lucia Mar when she was super violent and shit. After the dogs died more and more of the personalities started slipping out.

Yeah, it is basically. Except the personalities are real people and their bodies are still up in the surface facility. If you remember one of "personalities" asks Carl about her Dad, who is the author of one the Voodoo Book spells they use during the book. In the spell description the Dad talks about his kids and hopes that they find them.

I seem to recall when the first dog (Cici?) died, she said something along the lines of 'You killed the wrong one'. I never did understand the dog interaction there. Is it actually a sad story of the dogs protecting mind children and the right one to kill is Lucia herself (spoken from a child inhabitant)? Was Cici a good dog and Gustavo a bad dog? Are the dogs inhabited by...something?

Lucia book 8 spoilers
Book 9 prologue spoilers
OK this one isn't a book 8 spoiler but I don't remember which book we got this in. The dogs names were the same as the people agatha mentioned in her interlude. I think the dogs were part of the same faction of whatevers who took over residual ghandiis (who in turn took over humans). That faction wants to kill all life in the universe. At least agatha does so I assume the rest of her faction does too. So at least one of those is one of the dogs. Possibly they were both dogs. Lucia has all of the children of earth trapped inside of her somehow. We don't have a good idea of how that happened other than this killemall faction of residuals did it.
Book 9 prologue spoilers
In the prologue for book 9 we see katia on the surface in the kinder care facility. We find out that there's a wing where all the children are comatose. That's about 1/5th of the kids in the kinder care facility. It seems like those are the kids in lucia. So not all kids on earth, just 1/5th of the kids in the kinder care facility. BTW, it might have been 1/4th or 1/3rd I can't remember how many wings they had.
The killemall residuals who did it appear to be gone. At some point (I think during faction wars) a hitherto unknown goddess showed up and is taking care of those kids. She claims she heard them calling out to her for help. But she's batshit psycho and sometimes just kills one for no apparent reason. She also kills other workers who question what's going on in her wing. The former crawlers who survived faction wars are aware and have a plan to save the kids once the ascendancy starts.

So far he's only put out the prologue. It was juicy. Probably not as spicy as the book 8 prologue with donut and her lawyer, but it was juicy.
I accidently clicked that spoiler, saw the name Katia, and nope'd right out. I don't think I am ready for the slow drip of a book, I don't even like waiting weekly for shows I enjoy. She was one of the characters I liked.
One of the feeling feelings moment of the book, but reading through her losing her class / powers and realizing the damage she had that no one saw. I mean, even I am not dense enough to miss the symbolism there.
I was hoping that book 8 would have had more of her pregnancy situation, especially with the Open Intellection Pacifist Network coming to back her up, but nada.
Curious if it is day-0 pregnancy or accelerated, if Eileithyia / Chachi are going to have some on the surface battle over children in general, etc.

I want to know more about how Katia is doing too. I hope he releases stories of what's happening on the surface some day. I bet he's already written a shit ton of it.
I didn't find the full name earlier, I just remembered Chaci. It was what they called Chalchiuhtlicue. She was a Lucia connection.
