Ep 1 not bad, very Yellowstone.
I continue to question whether making a show around Beth was a good idea. They didn't follow up Breaking Bad with Skylar: The Show. I don't think they have the balls to make her realize that being a giant bitch to everyone isnt actually a good way to live your life. So I don't know what they can really do with her character. Whats it going to be, just a girlbossbitch vs girlbossbitch contest against the old lady rancher?
Still as watchable as Yellowstone and an entirely different thing that that ridiculous Marshalls thing

Is it really around Beth though, or is it really around Rip? And even though I utterly despise Beth I think she's actually remarkably well written for an insufferable bossbitch. Yeah she runs her mouth and acts like a total hardass but she got savagely beaten two or three times and would have died just as many times if it weren't for Rip saving her.
Wouldn't be surprised if they turn all that on its head for this spinoff though. They're so desperate to milk every cent out of the Yellowstone IP that they can I wouldn't be surprised to see a show based around the ghost of Kaycee's wife in a few years.

Beth is toned down compared to Yellowstone. She's still annoying, but less so. I still find her character unbelievable, and the way people react to her. In real life, people don't sit there admiring and respecting a middle aged bitchy woman. They call her a karen and take small steps to avoid interacting with her again in the future. In this show, everyone she encounters is like "oh wow shes so spunky I have so much respect for her"
But its better in this regard than YS. Toned down.
Their kid makes absolutely retarded decision after absolutely retarded decision. but
a) thats how all young guys react to hot girls in Sheridan shows
b) pussy really is a hell of a drug
c) he was raised getting absolutely fucktarded advice from Rip. "The key is always listen to your woman!" "Monday shes right, Tuesday she's right, Wednesday you're wrong!" So you can kind of understand it.
