Terrific four hour video that runs down all kinds of stuff. OSW is a high-quality channel that mostly only does wrestling shows, so it's cool to see them cover a game.
At about 2 hours in they present a fascinating theory: Elden Ring is a prequel to the other From games, and the 3 endings of Elden Ring are actually setup for the worlds of Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Demon Souls respectively. It's the Bioshock Infinite "many worlds" thing where depending on your actions, one of those 3 worlds is the future of ER's world. Factor in Sekiro as the "Land of Reeds" and all five are connected.

I didn't really rune farm but early game there's a hill outside the castle with a ton of trolls that IIRC drop ~1000 runes. I'd always hit that spot if I needed a few thousand to level before a boss

That's the spot I've been farming. I was shredding them with the curvy blood sword, but just discovered i can kill them faster while mounted.

Just wait until you find the Moghwyn Palace farming spot. I used that a LOT and it was awesome hilarity with Starscourge which I ended up using the rest of the game and when I platted the 3 endings.

Day off, ended up playing ER a lot.
First time I've played this in a while. It's my third from-scratch playthrough and I left off at the beginning of Altus Plateau.
Suffice to say the game is just as freaking incredible as it ever was. Looks like I was doing a standard Dex build with an Uchi, but I think I might try a Faith build instead using Blasphemous Blade and spells (whenever I'm able to respec). It's the one build I haven't tried in ER.
Is there any reason to reinforce a shield to +25? It looks like all it does is increase the attack power of bonking things with it, which is useless, but maybe it increases Poise or something?

I'm not sure what stats I should be working on. I got vigor to 20 first, then dexterity to 18, then str to 18. Should I just keep dumping them into vigor forever?
I'm starting to run out of FP when adventuring too. Should I put points into mind, or just go back to grace points more often?

Generally by the end game you want 50-60 vigor minimum. If you are using a Katana I would recommend dumping points into Dex. Keep in mind you can change the weapon's main damage and Ash of War (L2) stat with shriving stones/ whet blades.
For FP consumption you could place a few points into mind, or reallocate your flasks at Grace. Before end game I used various talismans to boost my stats.
Also you may want to try these talismans
Additionally, there are a bunch of passive bonus features on weapons, even if you have it in your offhand AND are TWO HANDING your main weapon. For example, I used this sword just to sustain myself during extended mob fights.
In the long run putting points into damage and playing carefully will pay off more than having an inflated health bar.
