Been shit kicking around on my new character playthrough. Just doing dungeons and equipment farms, most of caelid, linuria, dragonbarrow, etc.
Didn't do any major bosses, just did the smaller forts and dungeons. I powerleveled a lot in fort farrow or whatever the name is near the big dragon. Those harpies and bats are really easy with a collosol weapon, every hit staggers them and a three hit combo knocks them flat on the ground. It's an easy 10k+ runes per clear and super fast. Annoying that the harpies can always one shot you if they land their head attack but it's pretty easy to dodge. Definitely my favorite spot before I unlock the approach ledge.

Yes. I liked the entire game. There were only a couple times I felt frustrated by getting stuck on a certain boss, or an area that had too concentrated/strong mobs. Even some of the more annoying ‘swamp’ areas weren’t bad because it didn’t last long. I still haven’t played the DLC so maybe the “I liked every bit of it” won’t hold through that but I’ll find out next playthrough.
The sense of discovery, the challenge, the visuals etc is just fucking masterful throughout the entire game, even in the rough parts.

I can't remember, is it 100k runes? Not really worth doing in the grand scheme of things if I remember. You can farm 100k runes in a few minutes in lots of areas and actually improve your skills on enemies who fight back.
Granted getting all the dragon spells unlocked easily is a real benefit. Just felt like an extremely boring way to farm a few runes and you can only do it once.

Pretty sure that has always been intentional. They’ve known about it since the very beginning and never patched it out.
I always wanted there to be something more with that dragon so there was some kind of consequence to doing it but there’s still nothing that I know of.

Well you can do the encounter as intended and fight the little dragons. Each one drops 20% of her health.

Finished the main game, did about 25% of the DLC, shelving the game again for now. Next go-around I'll try to beat the DLC. Before I stopped, I made sure to get all the potion charges and Sacred Tears. 9/5 on Scadutree levels, so pretty well set-up for the next go. I'm probably going to try maining Rellana's Twin Swords next time.
This game is so unbelievably good that you don't want it to end. Man.
