I've never read something more wrong in this forum.

Casting and writing? All dog shit if your director can't pull it together. Good director can get Oscar level performances out of your worst actors.

I place casting on par with who's gonna cater the lunches on set.


with that said I really don't know how you execute a souls movie. Maybe take a tiny sliver of the lore and build it out. If you try and tackle the grand and often vague lore of souls you're gonna have a bad time

If I could make a souls movie it would make it a dark adventure film. It has to be almost vibes based....hypnotic, densely atmospheric, beautiful and horrific. It would sell no tickets and everyone would hate it.
