Don't go crazy on this game. It is fun in its current state, but you run out of shit to do if you play it a lot.

Is there a roadmap of features the devs have for this game? I can't seem to locate one. Oh well, still having fun.

They are going to reveal what their plans are "in the coming weeks." Things we know:

- Before Christmas they said that improvements to grouping were coming early this year. This is so you can jump from system to system with your friends. While it sounds like it should be easy, the oddball way they do their netcode makes it hard.
- There are going to be 30 playable ships (at the moment we only have 15), one of which will be the Fer-de-Lance which is expected to be a step up from the Viper.
- Better missions and hopefully a clearer idea of how to flip station and system control. IMO there could be a lot of mileage in gameplay where the players can influence the borders of the big factions.
- Mining improvements. They've called what's in game the "bare bones" of what they want to do. A while back they talked about temporary player mining "camps", but haven't mentioned much recently.
- Multiple characters on one account "but not soon"
- Variable stars (but not as a priority). They love their astronomy.

Planetary landings, walking inside your ship and walking inside stations are going to be pay-for-DLC. Last year IIRC they showed some stuff about the inside of an Imperial Clipper, and they've mentioned they are working on generating planet surfaces at the moment. I'm not sure about the player-run capital ships, that might come with being able to walk around inside.

It's always an excellent dock when you have 100% hull and at least some shielding left.

An Earth-like I found today - seems like a water world - but there are small snow covered islands - obviously I didn't try to hard to inspect the dark side. These are the most fun thing to find at least near the core worlds as I get the final system scanner. Nothing too exotic 150 ly from occupied space. System sold for 83k - which is not too bad.

Patch 1.04 incoming. Bug fixes, including:

- When deciding if we should go hostile to a faction we just shot, consider whether the target has a local bounty rather than a bounty with their own faction. Prevent people being attacked by the police after attack nearby wanted targets
- Fix only the first consequence being applied to the universe state when completing a mission
- Set killer before we do ship death - fixes problem with players not getting bounties or reputation when they kill other players by breaking critical modules
- Add produced by and consumed by information to all trade goods (except rares)
...
There are some online changes as well which Andy will post in his update, but one change is worth mentioning here - there should be an improvement in matchmaking that should mean you are more likely to see other players if they are in the same region as you.

The downtime should be less than 30 minutes.

*edit* from past experience, the servers can take about an hour to settle down after a patch is applied, in which time you can expect to be randomly disconnected when jumping or dropping in or out of SC.

That is unintelligible gibberish. I don't understand half of it.

But I made another docking video!

That is pretty brilliant. I can't wait what it says for Battle Weapons

I am using it on a no shield/full cargo Cobra. Apart from it bugging out and refusing to dock from certain positions it has been fine for me.

Anybody ever just float around stations and watch people try to dock? It's pretty funny.

I'm still at work but thinking about the patch note"When deciding if we should go hostile to a faction we just shot, consider whether the target has a local bounty rather than a bounty with their own faction", that sounds like it could be trouble if you hunt in Anarchy systems and a ship of the same faction as the target is nearby.

Someone floated around for a long time to make GIFs of star rotation, planet orbit, and a docking station above a rotating planet:

I'm hoping it also refers to tightening up the security forces' decisions around the belt resource points and when 'wanted' kicks in. I understand the mechanic (mostly) but think it is a little ridiculous that 5 security personnel will jump you if you accidentally rack up a 100cr bounty while in a firefight against a wanted target.

Finally have my Cobra up to all A components (except Shield Gen, that'll be this morning) and am just thinking about sticking with it until more content is released and banking the money. The investment required to move in to an Anaconda, etc... just seems out of this world.

Putting a few stray shots into someone shouldn't give a bounty, period. Putting a few stray shots into someone that is then destroyed in the next, say 5 minutes should acrue a bounty. Putting a few stray shots into someone that is then destroyed (by said shots) should acrue a bounty. Surely they can tighten this up.

I've been sitting at a nav beacon playing space cop for a good 20 minutes or so, while space truckers warp in and their escorts just light me up for no reason. Sucks needing to kill 2 Sidewinders for 100cr a piece.

AFAIK once a faction goes hostile (red) you can expect combat ships to shoot you on sight. If they are only hostile in the island / instance but not in the system as a whole (i.e. you shot a buddy of theirs nearby but that's all you've done) you can just SC out and back to the Nav Beacon to clear it.

If you've annoyed a faction enough for it to be hostile to you in the system as a whole then you just have to put up with it. Destroying ships that have a Clean slate is a good way to upset the locals.

Those all sound nice but if they don't give me a steady stream of rewarding shit to shoot at, then this game will hold no interest with me.

Conflict zones are incredibly dull and unrewarding when they should be some of the most interesting combat in the game.

Combat missions need to have some structure to them, rather than just fishing for X targets.

What it means is if you shoot at a Wanted target that's the same subfaction as the NPC police, the NPC polish won't aggro you like they do now. If you shoot at the police themselves or any other clean target you're still going to get a bounty.
