The standout expansions coming up in order of appearance are:

1. Depths of Darkhollow - you explore and underdark expansion with great models/graphics, you fight Mayong and you get Demiplane which is the first big jump in real raid complexity.

2. The Serpents Spine - A massive expansion with two full raid prog lines and two end zones. This whole thing is like a love letter to classic EQ complete with Gnolls, Orcs, Dragons, Giants and Zombies. 10/10 expansion.

3. Secrets of Faydwer - Two major end game raid zones, and amazing battles with Meldrath and Kerafyrm (The Sleeper). Great raids, 10/10 expansion.

The downside is you need to get through PoR which is just pure dogshit start to finish and The Buried Sea which is pretty fun but it’s like one week worth of content stretched for 8-12.

Honestly every EQ fan owes it to their self to do TSS and SoF at least once. It essentially caps off the old storylines and they’re incredible expansions that have the old school feel.
I second this analysis.

Convorteum in Underfoot is in my top 3 zones in EQ, if not my favorite. It's a group zone and a raid zone as this is from the era where they stopped making separate zones for raids and just re-purposed the group zones, but in this case it's actually a good thing.

What guild are you in?
Faceless - we're teammates! It's the only reason I've lasted this long, by far the best TLP guild I've played in from an organization standpoint.

Thanks for the responses by the way, gives me more incentive to keep going.

When you end up quitting, let me know who your character is so I can transfer all your DKP to me.

What guild are you in?

Definitely get your monk's 2.0. The 2.0s for many classes last for a long-ass time. DPS classes, Monk/Zerker especially, basically double in power with their epic 2.0. The next expansion has an item that upgrades the 2.0 to make it even stronger, so it'll continue to be BIS for months to come.

Other than the 2.0 (which is becoming less and less toxic as the weeks go by and people get their Kaiaren shit over with), one could easily get by with raid-logging. Perhaps buy a Ferocity V item and a Cleave V item if you're missing either of them.

Seconded that TSS and SOF are both incredible expansions that everyone should play once (and Teek is a good place to do it). Try to make it to those, and stick around for SoD if you like muramites. It'll be tough to spend 8 weeks each in PoR and TBS, but raid-logging and playing with people you like will make even those weak (or in TBS's case, just content-short) eras easy enough to cope with.
At this point in the game on Teek, how difficult is it to keep up with the Joneses?

My brother and I were with a nice little guild that got stuff done with out being duchebags and we had a great time up until they folded in to another guild for GoD. The new guild was just not a fit. The people running the raids in Discord were annoying and GoD raiding was just meh to put it bluntly. We burned out super fast and faded out.

I'd like to come back (brother included) to see TSS and SoF are all about for once in era. Brother is a 70 beastlord and I am a 68 wizard.

My only concern is that at this point in the game, everybody is boxing their own groups. Getting exp groups or groups for what YOU need to get done is not all that easy anymore. I refuse to pay a damned PLer (again... done that too many times in the past just to keep up on other servers). Am I living a pipe dream thinking that we can keep up with the server with out running our own box group from here on out?

Everything just sort of changes somewhere between PoP and OoW where pick up groups dry up and the only way to get anything done consistently is to run your own box. No offense to anyone that boxes, but I fucking suck at boxing and just want to play a single character. I know my brother is the same.

Doing it with just your brother depends on your class composition. As for keeping up, this is basically the best time because Omens is three months long, DoDH and PoR are four months and it’s a pretty small gear shift. Spend the next few months just getting AA, Anguish armor and your epic 2.0s.

You can easily max AA doing a 30 minute lesson burn in Paw every day.

Anguish is super easy so any guild is fine, but even no guild works because you can do pickup/plat raids for Anguish and by the end of the 70s all the CoA armor will be sub one krono if you just want to buy it.

You want to get into at least a half way decent guild by TSS to experience the best of that and SoF.

Got a PAW group last night and banged out level 70 on the wizard. Now just grinding AAs. 230ish AAs so far.
