I can't think of anything. Makes no sense to me to stay level locked at 51 for two months. It's like they divided 50, 51 and 55 into evenly spaced two-month periods.

This server is the pinnacle of DBG having no clue what they are doing in regards to unlock schedules. After the community begging It's taken them nearly a decade to to give relief to the really bad segments (pop-loy-ldon and 70's era), while then going forward and doubling down on this dumb shit.
Listening to morons that want to "slowly enjoy all the 26 year old content at their own pace" isnt the play for a successful server. When the next tlp is less than 365 days away at all times, there is very little reason to box your population in content wise for this long.
Additionally, adding an extra month to normal cadence servers because they have a 5 level increase is dumb imo. You're adding an extra month for something that takes like 5 hours? The next carrot should always be just around the corner to maintain engagement.

Odds are that the new TLP launches the exact same day Fangbreaker gets Gates of Discord. Anyone still playing on that server is going to have a nuke dropped on their guild when April rolls around and Daybreak announces a new free trade server.

In terms of raw numbers for sure. I just kinda feel bad for the people that are going to watch the server they're still playing on (for whatever reason) get taken behind the shed and shot.
That there's so little effort made to get people to play later expansions is bizarre to me. Every single one of these for years has four full months of Planes of Power. It's godawful.

Which is really unfortunate. Just due to number of expansions EQ has it takes entirely too long to get to the true sweet spot of everquest expansions. It would be to the benefit any true everquest fan to make it to the 75+ era.
I dont think its really that easy for them to accomplish. On one hand, if you start around tss, people that never played that far in will avoid it due to the unknown. On the other, it would require a massive amount of expansion consolidation to start around classic and manage to keep the population around to make it to 75+
I think fangbreaker semi had the right idea of how this would be attainable but then fumbled that possibility with how sluggish the unlock cadence they landed on is.

I don't get why they release these servers in May when most of the northern hemisphere is finally getting some decent weather after a long winter. I'd launch them in October or something when everyone's about to be sitting indoors for 4-5 months.

I think anyone who is still playing everquest is already sold on staying indoors and playing during the winter. The TLP launch window is chosen to maintain as many of them as possible so they don't go touch grass and realize they are still playing everquest 1/4 a century later.

Selo fast unlock was my favorite. Just didn't like the 2x raid lockout. They should do 2x loot drop table instead
My ideal tlp is a OG Quarm style where the community kills a boss and opens the next era. Kill trak, boom velious unlocked for the server.
Individual flagging could be cool too. Think that THJ had something like that. But kinda pointless when you can just solo it cause power was crazy. Guild racing through content and guild tagging would be the ultimate coolness
