They could drop loy and ldon immediately with pop so that more casual players have alternatives to the flagging rush. They could stagger access over the 3 months or whatever so that for example in month 3 the elementals are open to any 65. They could add incentives to get people going in these late era doldrums like extra loot or xp at the end of expansions so people come back to catch up, finish up, or prep more easily. They could do literally exactly what they did with fangbreaker but in 20% of the time and some semblance of effort onward and it'd work but effort is a bad word. The whole appeal of fangbreaker's basis works for an expansion clear; it shouldn't persist more than like a week and have you stuck at it. Open pop zones, week later open pop levels.

But while I rant about the lack of innovation, I am not calling for eq to just die. That's some petulant child shit. Oh no, they are mismanaged, make it all go away! No. Fuck off. I want it better, not dead. Stop being such a bum and just stop playing if that's what you want.

2015 Daybreak had taken over Everquest. That's 10 years ago, in that 10 years what has given you hope that Everquest will get better?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but nothing has, it's the same washed up expansion every year with a different slop of paint on it each TLE is the same money grab catering to Boxfags, botfags, and kronofags. The game isn't going to heal, the game isn't going to get better, you're living in a fantasy if you believe it can heal. Everquest has become an abomination of an MMO. Everything that an MMO used to stand for is gone Final Fantasy 14 and WoW are more of an MMO than Everquest now days.

To fix Everquest they need to kill it.

Everquest is nothing but a Pay 2 Win version of GuildWars. Instead of getting your own mercenaries for free you instead pay for 6 accounts and a subscription to redguides, you actively avoid any interaction with real players unless you're absolutely forced to interact with them, your interactions normally consist of buying an item with krono's instead of the actual in game currancy because the in game currancy is actually useless compared to a krono, and this all stems from a problem of Daybreak refusing to enforce their own rules against cheaters.

You want to say people who want the game to die are some petulant children that's fine and you're entitled to your opinion, but you're wrong. I want Everquest to die I started Everquest back in 1999 a game that was a major part of my childhood has turned into a maggot infested corpse that still somehow manages to shamble by puppet strings of a company that doesn't care for the game or it's players. It cares about nothing more than money and the majority of players that play it now are cheaters.

I wanna see Everquest die, I want to see the people that ruined the game I beloved from my childhood lose everything, I want to see the thousands of dollars they spent to "win" go down in flames. If it takes watching my characters from 1999 go down with that ship I gladly accept it.

Everquest won't ever get better it's been 10 years, you're nothing but a wallet to Daybreak it's the reason every TLP released is slop and they always release a 40 dollar bag they know your kind will buy it. So enjoy your reguratated slop, don't worry next year it will be the same flavor with a uneven coat of paint.

This is exactly the kind of big-picture clarity that has been missing from the conversation. You said what a lot of us have felt deep down but haven’t always had the words for. EverQuest was once groundbreaking, but now it’s a hollow shell. What used to be a world full of life and possibility has turned into a recycled treadmill designed to squeeze every last dollar from a dwindling player base. You’re not bitter. You’re just telling the truth. And that truth needs to be heard.

I’ve been trying to make the same point. This was never just about copyright law or legal ownership. It’s about what happens when the people in charge no longer care. When fans are the ones showing more passion and creativity than the actual developers, something is seriously wrong. While Darkpaw clings to tired old formulas and monetization tricks, others are out there trying to breathe real life back into the game. And for their efforts, they get threatened instead of supported. That tells you everything you need to know.

So yes, let it die. Let the people who have turned EverQuest into a slot machine defend their $40 bags and broken systems. The version of EQ we loved is long gone, and keeping it alive in name only just drags out the insult. You’ve put into words what many of us have been trying to express for years. Maybe now others will finally see it too—and stop confusing exploitation for loyalty.

Phinny, mischief, selo, and vaniki were all cool things done since 2015. In my mind, phinny and its changes are linked with the changing of the guard to daybreak, and the killing off of the casuals cant kill naggy attitude into what we have had more recently. Selo was one of the best times in eq. Mischief was a laborious effort to give something cool with all the loot buckets and having a way to do free trade without as much monopolization, and for all its flaws, its a success.

Im not happy with the current state of the game, but im sure as shit glad it didnt get taken out back to be put down after the ragefire shittiness. Why should I want that now? I enjoyed many of these good times. Im unhappy and pessimistic now, but I dont wish for it all to end. That's some weird doomer shit. So it dies. Then what? You feel good about yourself? Just walk away if you feel that way. I've skipped half the tlps and am not playing currently. Just do it.

It's not doomer at all, It's bitterness and that bitterness isn't just with Daybreak it's also the Everquest community. For years I seen Daybreak slowly destroy Everquest more and more by catering to Boxers, Botters, and Kronolords. Refusing to punish anyone actually hacking or breaking rules yet if you spoke out against it you got banned on their forums.

Daybreak tells you bullshit if you see someone botting report them. I took tons of videos and sent them to Daybreak do you know what happened? Not a damn thing, and their reporting process isn't just a simple thing no you need to send video evidence and it needs to be a certain size of file but need to make sure that they can read everything and see everything, it's a fucking pain in the ass and they do this to intentionally discourage people from reporting these people and if they do get reported it doesn't matter.

The Everquest community is just as bad though, criticize boxing? You can bet you're getting reported and most likely banned, Say they should allow people to have more than one mercenary so that people that only pay for 1 account can actually play the game? Oh you can guarantee you're getting flamed to hell and back and probably reported at the same time and probably banned. But that's just the forums and could be because Angeliana is a fucking joke of a mod for both forums and discord, of course people are nicer in game... They're fucking not there's a reason they tossed out the play nice policy and that's because boxers think the game is theirs, and why shouldn't they Daybreak basically gave it to them, if you're not a boxer you get punished.

And yeah I hate boxers I fully admit it, I'll stomach someone 2 or 3 boxing it's when I see people boxing an entire group and they all seem to be really well played, you know it's pretty impressive when a person can manually 6 box pulling as a bard, buffing while the bard is pulling, and then mezzing, maintaining charm and all that stuff all while boxing 6 characters, it's impressive because they're not fucking actually boxing they're botting but that's alright because Daybreak don't give half a fuck, these people are paying for 6 accounts plus buying every expansion and the bags and shit for every TLP.

Botters can take over complete zones and sell PL's and that's okay it's not zone disruption that bots are taking entire zones, Daybreak is prefectly okay with it.

Now you give the scenario of it dying and ask what I feel. You're 100% fucking right I'll feel good, the day Everquest fucking dies I'll be happy as fuck because I know there are people that spend thousands every year on that game actively ruining it, and before you assume it's jealousy because of money, it's not It's bitterness and anger that these people destroyed a game that I used to love and I want to see them lose everything they put into it, I want to see them realize all that money and time it's just fucking gone poof into thin air. The day they decide to Sunset Everquest I plan to go onto the forums to read the collective shit storm all these people that put tons of money in who essentially believed they owned the game suddenly having it stolen away from them it will be bitter sweet because those same people are the ones that stole it away from people that enjoyed the game for what the game was.

As for stop playing, I have. I tried TLP's thinking it will be different believing Daybreak will actually enforce their rules like a fuckin idiot just to be reinforced of my stupid decision when it's the same old bullshit. I tried Fangbreaker and yeah found out same shit.

Day 1 of resource hunter AA bonuses, and two of the zones aren’t even available in Luclin era.

They are an excellent, well informed dev and design team.

You would have thought that when Krono started to just disappear off player accounts, that players might have understood the greed that is Daybreak. When a company blatantly steals back the very currency that they sell, something is wrong. Yes they replaced it with current value Platinum, but the real question was, why not replace the Krono? I will not support a company like that regardless of how well they design or continue the design of a game.

You want Everquest to die. In many ways it is dead. The players who play this game now are simply ghosts that do not have the ability to move on.

These ghosts are the players that the company, and some players, take advantage of.

The Heroes Journey design is an example of what might could be, if actual passion existed for this game. Daybreak only views this game as an income. They minimize every aspect of work as it relates to how much money they can make. Every decision revolves around only that figure. There is no passion or care for the actual game itself. It is why they do not enforce the actual rules. Why would a company shut down a group of 6 boxers who buy bags and such, when money is all they care about?

The only thing a player can do to send a message, is to stop paying and playing the game. What a player cannot do, is force others to stop playing.

The game will continue, for as long as there are players who do not care about Daybreak Studio's apathy towards Everquest,

The time has come for me to farm you, and explain how this world works.

You are an old man that thinks in terms of democracy, and nations, and the "spirit of the game", and "The Vision." Allow me to elucidate.

There is no democracy. There are no nations. There is no spirit. There never was a vision. There is just a vast ecumenical holding company of Dollars. The world is a business Mr Beale.

You and your ilk come on FOH forums 25 years later and howl about botters and kronolords. Darkpaw & Daybreak Games care what what we say on FOH forums about as much as the Trump admin cares about a Reddit thread trying to influence their policy. Am I getting through to you Mr Beale? There is no EQ. There is only Kronoquest.

I have preached this evangel because I have chosen you to spread this gospel across the internets.

Selo and Vaniki where half baked trash servers, could've maybe worked if the Dev team wasn't lazy. Phinny and Mischief were only cool because of the playerbase, the dev team had to be dragged into do them. The only Dev that even half tried and gave us AoCs/the random loot buckets now works for Blizzard.
