This exp bonus expands the cap making the per kill kinda nutty.

Lvl 40 Shammy got 42 percent xp on a mob this morning. Think it conned white. Only had time to kill a few mobs before heading to work. Probably could to better.

Out of the blue I decided to play EQ again after thinking I was done with this game for good years ago. Just happened to be a couple days after Frostreaver launched, which I really knew nothing about. So when my full bank bags on my level 85 sk gave me fucking headache, I ditched that and decided to go full access and try the new TLP, Frostreaver. Again I didn't know anything about it. Just wanted to start over again. Never really played a TLP before.

Fuck, this server is fun. The rules are so cool. Check the frostreaver site for the day's map bonus and go a trekkin. Have a ton of toons of different levels. Trying out classes I never played before. Buying great gear for nothing in EC. And people are really easy going for the most part. Yeah there are lots of boxers, but everyone is cool with it. And the boxers are generous with newbies, etc. Just a much better experience than I expected
Sort of random tangent about what you said and did here. For me at least, everquest has this really strange dichotomy between later eq and starting within the classic expansions.

After playing into the 80-100 range on a handful of tlps, theres absolutely no question that the overall game gets better post tss in nearly every way. But for me it comes with caveats.

All anecdotal, but in some weird way, the only way I enjoy playing those eras is if 1. I actually progressed to that era with the attachment to those character(s) and 2. That server is actively at that expansion lock. The moment I take a break (and given the time investment it takes to make it to this era of the game it always happens) the server quickly becomes dead to me.

And then on the flip side of that, original eq (even while knowing its an inferior product in just about every way) is always able to suck me back in, no questions asked and keep me consistently hooked shity content be dammed. I guess the appeal is less about the content itself and more about experiencing the beginning of the members berries all over again.

I feel like the Lethar server is almost made to directly placate both sides of this, but Im not sure if a majority of the population that quits by PoP is actually open minded to a tss start for it to be successful.

What's the new TLP all about nerds? I'm out of the loop. Are we slaying the dragon or no?
Its the most casual friendly tlp they've released by a long shot. MQ is openly available so expect to see massive auto follow trains running around 🤣

There is sort of a third era as well, when they roll out an even more formulaic quest/mission format and associated achievements. It starts around The Burning Lands and gets copy paste starting at Torment of Velious.

Yea to me once it goes full cookie cutter mode, theres just no way I ever stick around.

People will definitely have their own individual opinions, but tss to voa is thr sweet spot when it comes to expansions overall.

TBS being lodged between the rest of those is the only no for me, just because outside of the initial group progression you basically have one raid zone that sort of feels like a theme park and really nothing else. The next 4 are my favorite but actually making it to that point in a servers life cycle just takes so god damn long.

Alright nerds, I'm probably starting this up this weekend. Anything I should know? How easy are groups to find at this stage?

Yeah its pretty easy to find groups just follow the good exp zones. And once youre around 45 chardok and velks always have stuff going on.
